Hotel Bären - The Bear Inn is a cosy mountain hotel in Wilderswil, Interlaken, Switzerland.
Interlaken and the Jungfrau region are popular winter and summer sports destinations. Considered one of the oldest tourist resorts in Switzerland, this area offers guests the possibility of skydiving, hang gliding, paragliding and of course skiing.
Housed in an ancient tavern dating back to 1706, the Bären - Bear Inn hotel Wilderswil is ideal as a base for an exciting vacation in the Swiss mountains enjoying exquisite local cuisine.
The hotel features a restaurant, a bar/pizzeria, a Stübli cafeteria, a garden terrace and a wellness/spa area with sauna, solarium and gym.
Upon arrival, guests are offered a free ticket for bus and train travel within the Jungfrau area, allowing easy access to skiing.

Noisy room over a street corner. Couldn't be moved to another as being the off season many of the rooms were shut down. No lift so heavy cases need to be taken up several flights of stairs.

There were 3 of us so we got a triple room (a spacious room with 3 twin beds). Bathroom was a bit outdated, but simple and clean. A friendly gentleman checked us in upon arrival. I think he was the big boss. We really like the hotel location. It was conveniently located within walking distance to the Wilderwil train station, and a quick bus ride from the Interlaken West train stop. We went to Jungfraujoch and got the train from the Wilderwil station (a 7-min walk from the hotel).

Excellent hotel ideally located just a short walk to the railway station. Rooms excellent and warm. Restaurant very good indeed although you may need to book as it gets very busy on any day of the week. Would certainly stay here again if we had a holiday in the area again. And when the sky is clear, the views of the mountains are great. One to recommend.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL
By car
From the motorway, exit at number 25 and continue in direction of Grindelwald. Once arrived in Wilderswil turn right at the railway station. Keep on driving towards the city centre for about 400 metres.
By train
Take the train from Berne to Interlaken-West and then bus-line 5 to Wilderswil. The bus stops 60 meters from the hotel. Alternatively, take the train from Berne to Interlaken-Ost. Change train in Interlaken-Ost for Wilderswil station.
From Lucerne, take the train to Interlaken-Ost, where you have to change for Wilderswil.
