We stayed in a spacious double room which had a large terrace.
Römerhof is ideal for people who are looking for peace and beautiful surroundings.
The owner had a very sarcastic sense of humor, which pleased us as well. Other customers vere young athletes from UK bob-sledge team having a competition on the track just opposite side of the road.

The Romerhof provided excellent lodging and served as a base for day excursions into Innsbruck and southern Germany. Although very close to Innsbruck, the country setting of the hotel provided tranquil and relaxing accomodations away from the noise of the city. The hotel staff were very friendly and most helpful making our vacation in Austria a most memorable one. I would gladly stay again at the Hotel Romerhof and recommend the hotel to others.

3 days stay (4 nights). Hotel managed by a very friendly and helpful couple. Quiet situation, outside of Igls, in the countryside. Hotel situated near the olympic bobsleigh trac. Near to Insbruck (10 minutes by car). Bus connections to Insbruck (20-30 minutes by bus).
Not far from the highway.
Good breakfast buffet.
4 stars seems to be a little bit overrated. (We came from a 8 days stay in Italy spent in a 4 stars hotel that was much more luxurious and less expensive).

I loved staying outside of the city in this very tranquil hotel. Bus transportation worked out great. Lots to do. If you're there July 1 onward, you can take advantage of the olympic bobsled run. Hike the surrounding hills and mountains. Incredible!

Beautiful small hotel in the mountains of Innsbruck, family owned and operated.
A little dificult to find if you don't have a local map or a GPS but very well worth.
The sorroundings are beautiful including Winter olympic sports sites and a cable-car to climb to the top of the mountain.

I don't often give excellent reviews for no reason. My wife and I went for the more expensive room, and it was well worth it. This place is out of town that may make it difficult if you don't have a car. We had a car with GPS so had no trouble finding it.

We stayed for 7 nights and during this period we lacked nothing, We were six persons, my wife, four children and myself. we had a nice and family atmosphere, delicious and autentic food, clean & comfortable place, excellent mountain sourroundings. No parking problems. Easy assess to motorway. Regular bus services to city centre Innsbruck. With taxi, always specify Romerhof - Igls. It was a great place. Will return someday.

Wonderfully attentive staff, spotless room, spacious, very pleasant. Our only problem involved finding the hotel. Directions could be more detailed. It was not clear from web page that the hotel was so far away from Igls.

The couple managing this property were extremely helpful and spoke excellent English. They provided discount tourist cards to Innsbruck and took the time to point out interesting sights on a map they provide to guests.
It has a LIFT (elevator)! AC worked great. Extremely nice/clean bathroom. I wish I had the bed at home.
Breakfast was complete European style with muselix, fresh breads, excellent cherry preserves, meat and cheese tray, milk, juices and yogurt. On the nicer side. The restaurant is cosey and there are plenty of tables available. We had dinner which was reasonably priced on the low/mid price range. We had the Tyrolean Dumplings with a mixed salad. Excellent! Everything was prepared in house and even the herbs were grown at the hotel.
There is a bit of construction going on in Innsbruck (June 2006) and so getting on the right road is tough even with a good map. Ask directions for Ville Igles (pronounced like Eagles). I'd say it was a 10-15 min. ride into town, but you'll be too taken in by the view to notice.
I had a beer (several local brews on tap) a couple of evenings with the manager who is a great host. I wish I had stayed longer in Innsbruck at the Romerhof. In winter you may run into Olympic bobsled teams that practice at the course across the street.
Also, the photos do this place a grave injustice.

Great location if you own a car. Across the road from a farm and next to that is the Olympic bob sled facility - very cool. Lots of walking trails close by. 2 minutes drive from the village of Igls - this was gorgeous. The room decor was very dated but the rooms were spacious and was the only hotel we stayed in that had a large tv in the room. Bathroom was good, however, the mattress was merely a piece of foam without springs and was not very supportive. Most hotel beds are too hard but this one was too soft. However, it was very good value for money and breakfast was included. My tip is to avoid visiting Crystal World. My wife and I laughed all the way through and I don't think it was meant to be funny.

Staying at Romerhof was wonderful and we'd recommend it to anyone. Michael and his wife welcomed my wife and I and our friends, Ray and Sharon, as friends instead of guests.
I have some dietary issues and both Michael and his wife went out of their way to make sure that I didn't have any problems with the meals that were served. By the way, the food was excellent.
For anyone staying in Innsbruck, Romerhof is the place to stay even though it is not in the city. Transportation from the hotel is exceelent since the bus stops right out front and runs freqently. We parked our car and didn't need to use it until we left.
You can't beat Romerhof for hospitality, comfort, convenience and value.

Very good hotel, 15 minutes from Salzburg, located outside Igls. Mandatory to have a car.Excellent personal attention. Very nice sorroundings for walking. In Igls you may find the teleferic to the mountains where you may enjoy superb views of the valleys.

An excellent hotel, good value, but very inaccessible for most travellers - luckily we were in our own car. It's just too far out of town for anyone without a car, although if you were skiing or hiking it would be an ideal location. Very good breakfast, friendly staff.

This has been one of the most enjoyable holidays in our life thanks to the hotel as it is and specifically to its absolutely wonderful owners/staff. Actually they are much better than one could think on the basis on the WEB presentation. I can offer this hotel from my heart to everybody with small kids, everybody who wants to have a quiet still most enjoyable holiday at a place from where you can reach all the beauties of Tirol.

It is a nice place and it shows that it is specially prepared for the winter, although in the summer it was very nice too.
There is even internet and music in the room. A nice mountain atmosphere and very nice people.

Breakfast extremely poor. Jacuzzi never usable. No decent indications about how to reach Innsbruck. One public bus per hour, last bus back to the hotel brings you back at 16.30 with no other leisure possibility but staying in your room or watching very few TV chanels. No air conditioning.
