This hotel is ideally situated for exploring the old town and is surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel has large rooms with high ceilings (too high for comfort really). The TV in our room was far too high, as were the power sockets - we got by though and we weren't there to watch TV, so not a real problem. The decor in the common areas is a cross between teenagers bedroom and early 70's brothel and a bit tacky. Our room was at the rear and we were woken one morning by the rubbish collection, so kept the windows closed at night for the rest of our stay. However the location is excellent, the rooms were clean and the staff very good. We would stay here again.

Perfectly located in the old town, clean rooms but very small. Cheap and cheerful. Watch out for the noisy bin collection every morning at 4:30!! All the same would definitely recommend this hotel

There is not a lift in the hotel, our room was quite small and the hotel is situated in a pedonal zone so we had to transport our luggages personally for about 100mts. The owner was very kind and the room was quite clean.

By car
From Highway A57: exit at Saint-Tropez La Londe Hyères and proceed on road N98 (Voie Olbia). Enter Hyères, turn left onto Avenue Gambetta, proceed straight ahead until Place Portalet, and turn left into Rue de Limans.

TRANSPORT SERVICES

The Hotel Du Portalet does not feature parking facilities, but guests can leave their car in two public parking areas situated about 0.3 mile (500 meters) away (subject to charges).
