Although i got my confirmation about my booking immediately it did not make on time to the Hotel, they are checking their Online-Reservations just once a day. I just had the choice to stay for the normal price a the desk (more than the double) which i refused had to search for an other accommodation.

Don't go here. When we arrived after 12 hours flight from Norway, they didn't have our reservation. We was told "we dont have your reservation, and the hotel is full, it is not our problem". We had the reservation printed out and confirmed. They had already sent 4 familes away earlier they told, and told us to go to another hotel 4 times the price. We asked to speak with the manager because we wouldn't go out in the late evening in an unknown town looking for a place to sleep. They lied and told she wasn't there. We asked them to call Venere and sort things out, but again they lied and told "we can't make international calls", my mobil was working fine and I told they could call from it, but they refused. End of story, after standing in the lobby for 3 hours we finally got hold of the manager and was given a room, they just took a room from another family who actually had reservation. In addition (after 3 hours waiting in the lobby) they told that the price we reserved for was too low, and wanted a higher price for the room. While we was standing in the lobby, a man came and asked if they had available rooms and price, and guess what, they told yes and 3 times the price we had reserved for. We didnt expect much for this price, and after given a room, the hotel was ok, exept that in the restaurant there was no air-condition, so the flies was all over the buffet. Venere should take this hotel of the list when you can't actually reserve it on internet, and the price they give is incorrect when you get there. Avoid this hotel, the price is higher when you get there, if they at all have your reservation. Understandable and helping staff, forget it.

lO MEJOR DEL HOTEL ES LA SITUACION, EN EL MISMO MALECON A UN PASO DE LA HABANA VIEJA.EL HOTEL POR LO QUE CUESTA ESTA BIEN, NO ESPEREIS NINGUN TIPO DE LUJO. EL DESAYUNO ES LO PEOR.

The Hotel Deaville needs a bit of TLC on the outside but inside although the rooms are quite basic, they are clean and tidy and have good facilities. The Hotel in general has excellent facilities including a rooftop swimming pool, a change bureau, bar, restaurant and and excellent discoteca downstairs. The location is good with views across the Malecon and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall I think the Hotel Deauville is excellent value for money.

When I arrived at Hotel Deauville, Havana, on March 3rd with my confirmed reservation, the hotel receptionist said that they had not had any booking in my name. They were unable to offer any accomodation as the hotel was full. After much insistance from me, they eventually found an alternative hotel (Plaza Hotel) at three times the price. This was a very bad experience, obviously 'confirmed booking' means nothing to the Hotel Deauville.

good value for the location (10 min walking to city centre) but very poor environment and services which includes lack of igene in the public areas. Exteriors extremely ruined and decadent. Rooms spacious and good view from the balcony but old fashion forniture. Cleanliness acceptable. Security boxes strongly suggested as we heard about robberies inside the rooms (when guests were sleeping). Might be ok for a couple of nights, wouldn't stay longer. Ok for young people but NOT if you are looking for comfort.

On arriving staff knew nothing about out booking. We was giving with a room for higher price that it had been booked. We failed to receive proper papers about our staying. We needed taxi to go to airport at 8 a.m. We asked receptionists to call a taxi in an hour and a half, at 6.30 and was assured that all would be OK, but at 8 a.m. they said that they couldn't call a taxi and we had to look for taxi outside.

Mattresses are too soft and caused back discomfort to 2 of our party of 3. Towels have poor absorbancy of moisture and do not dry the skin properly. Their was a lot of uncleaned dust on the furnishings.

Nice hotel with pool and disco included, better then some 4 stars in Habana, I recommend for the price, large room, large and good breakfast buffet, only problem no hot water in the room during our 2 nights stay.

Actually, this hotel is quite old and worn out inside and outside. But its location is not bad (on Malecon, 5 min walk to Prado, 15 min walk to Old Habana or to Parque Central and Capitolium), there is a small outdoor pool on the 6th floor where you can swim and enjoy the views of breaking down buildings of central Habana and the ocean, everynight disco is fun, it is free for guests and full of locals, breakfast is OK and the rooms are quite clean. As a conclusion: this hotel is good for the money it costs for a short stopover in Habana

When we arrived to the hotel they wanted us to pay more than that price we got when we booked...when we stood for us they started to be disagreeable and had an attiude of: take it or leave it. When we told them that we are going to pay the price that we got when we booked they changed the room nummer so we got a room that smelled hell, or only view from the room was a wall 2 meters from the window, the AC was not working and nobody lived in that part of the hotel....We had our bags in the room for a couple of hours while we walked for a meal. When we arrived back to the hotel there were onther staff, we decided to speak to the director of the hotel. It didn´t take so long time before we got a new room with sea-view.

It was basic but exactly what we needed - place to sleep in the evening. The phone in the room is, I think, only for decoration. It is also very central and we had a nice view from the 11th floor. Don't expect an exciting breakfast but again, it was enough to get us going in the morning. Staff was friendly enough.

Very good location, a few steps from Plaza Vieja, nice seaview.Very practical with a rental car as it is on the coast, so very easy to find, as well as practical when you leave to go to Vinales or to the west of Cuba. Good breakfast. Parking OK, 1 CUC per day for the guy who will watch your car.

The only real problems was that when we arrived there were 4 members of staff standing around chatting and we had to wait a good 5 to 10 minutes before we were served. One other problem was that I needed a plaster and was told that there weren't any. The reception should have a small first aid box.

Perfect location in Habana!!! The food is... different... Had two different room types and they were both ok. The maids are doing a good job, but HEY!! you're not in Habana for sleeping. Get out and have the time of you life, so did I =)=)

On the plus side, the desk clerk was welcoming and helpful. The location is wonderful and we had fine views of Havana harbour. The rooms were large and reasonably comfortable. The water was hot and plentiful, although the tap did come off in my hand. The buffet breakfast was very good with lots of food and variety. My family's biggest complaint would be that the discotheque downstairs was so loud and obtrusive that it was impossible to enjoy dinner at night. Also, the information provided in the rooms regarding the hours of the pool and upstairs bar was inaccurate.

The hotel, with a good location on the Malecon, was obviously quite correct a few years ago (confirmed by Irish travelers encountered in Cuba who had stayed there three years ago). Although the rooms are relatively clean, the lobby is not, and it seems not to have been properly maintained. Compared to other hotels in Cuba (including in Habana), it is expensive for the service it offers. It seems to me that if it is not remodeled very rapidly, it will soon become a place to avoid. Its only advantage is its location on the Malecon, which makes it easy to locate if it is your first visit to Habana and if you are driving from the airport at night (most of the planes from Europe arriving late at the Jose Marti airport). Another hotel on the Malecon might be advised, however.

Nice hotel - well located. nice walk allong the 'Malecon' and close from teh old Habana main streets. only problem. the price of the rooms does'nt correspond to the internet price. we booked the room for 35 Euro (dollars) per rom per night and they asked us 70 usd !!! had big discussion to get the internet price. and breakfast was not included. expect that good hotel for 35 usd...

Reserving online I got a double/no breakfast for 75$/day while reserving direcly on site breakfast was included for the same amount. Breakfast cost 5$/person, then 10$ for a double. In practice reserving on line I paid 30$ more than what I could pay on site for my 3 days reservation, that was unexpected.

The price/quality relationship was excellent. If I had booked in the Netherlands it would have cost me twice the price. So I am happy and if in future I need hotels to stay I will definitely check and book again with you.

I spent about a week in Cuba and the hotel was very accomadating. The hotel is an excellent value for the price, we had a corner room with a spectacular view of the ocean on one side and the beautiful while falling apart city of La Habana. It is really a great location, the food at the restaurant is not the best, however it is one of the nicer places to eat in the city. I indeed enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The staff wasn't the friendliest though
