It is good for spend the night only, has very good location and I recomend to confirm as exactly as posible (if you can by phone call) the type of room and if you'll need pick up service from airport.

The hotel is in a good plce but it´s been the worst experience in a hotel in all my life,and I´ve been all around the world in multiple hotels.We were 2men,so we booked a double room for 3 days,the only one posib in internet to take a room with 2beds(twin room wasn´t a choice),and when we arrived,we were asked to go to a hotel next to democrazy, and the other 2 nights at democrazy, we said ok.The other was worst,but we didn´t complaint and next morning we changed at democra,a room with the bathroom painted just a few hours before,so it stinked,and we hadn´t hot water(!!),but we didn´t complaint.We were ofered about doing an excursion to Halong Bay for 26$,but we saw in a travel agency exactly the same trip 16$,so we said we would go with the agency.Casualty(or not),1hour after they said us that we must change again the room because we hadn´t booked a twin room,we said that it wasn´t our fault,that we couldn´t book other in internet,and that it wasn´t serious at all change us again,we booked a room 3days to stay quiet,not to be moving every day,and we would pay the diferent price.They said that they would look for other solution.We woke up at 7.15,and they saw us in the breakfast and said nothing,and only when it was 8,when we were just to take the bus to the trip to Halong Bay,they said they would change our things to other room.I adviced him not to touch my money,my clothes,my baggage...my things!!!I said he could say it at 7.30before going out, and I would made my baggage,but at 8he had to wait me to do it untill I back.Even after that,all our things were moved...I told my room was my house at Hanoi and nobody had rights to touch my things, except for cleaning the room.They didnt understand.We left the hotel in this moment hoping that all my things were in my baggage and that nobody put something inside(!!!) The breakfast:water or coffee,eggs,bread and butter out of date from airline companies. Unbelieveable! We highly not recommend Democrazy Hotel.

My fiancee and I stayed at Democracy for 3 nights and really enjoyed it! The staff were so welcoming and eager to carry bags and help with maps of Hanoi etc. The little restaurant on the penthouse is not really used as you are in the middle of Hanoi and there is everything within a 20 metre walk, however, if you go up there, a staff member will be ahead of you to help you out! Waiting on the bus out of Hanoi, which we booked with Democracy which was at face value as the hotel does not charge extra booking fees for it's patrons, we had a great time with the staff in the lobby, chatting drinking tea that they had for us. Internet is also free, but is only one computer that you would just use to check mail. A really helpful group of people in a lovely mini-hotel in the dead-centre of Hanoi.
