The Buchanan Hotel has a variety of accommodation to suit any need. In total we have 60 bedrooms all with en-suite facilities, colour television, direct dial telephone, hospitality tray and central heating.

I and my husband stayed in the Buchanan hotel for a weekend break and were very happy with our stay. The location is perfect, right in the center of Glasgow, and even if the hotel is old and the floors a bit creaky our room was clean and had everything we expected. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

To cut to the chase, the two things you should be aware of are that:
1. (at least) the bed I slept in had an old sagging mattress and;
2. the street outside the hotel is apparently a "party place" for the locals. People were yelling all throughout the night right outside of my room, making for a LOUSY night sleep.
The rest of the accommodations are a good value. The hotel is close to the bus station, so I was able to take a bus to the airport for 3L, instead of a cab (as the staff recommended) for 15L.

I noted that the website photo must have been taken a few decades earlier. The location of this hotel could not have been better. Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful - the computer was down so the actual help never arrived - stuff happens. One drawback was the shower water temperature - very "cool".
The Buchannan is on a closed street so no worries about traffic. The bad news: you must tote your own luggage uphill about 4 blocks and the subway station is just outside the door. That said, the noise level really wasn't bad and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Right in the heart of Glasgow's shopping district and very convenient to both major rail stations and underground. A little noisey because of location. Only major complaint I had was no hot water (I hate cold showers!). Continental breakfast was good.

When we first arrived the room offered was awful and also double not a twin. When we complained we were offered two singles instead. After insisting on speaking to the manager, we were offered a very nice twin room. Not only this, but when settling the bill the following day, the manager deducted another £20 off Venere's discounted rate - thus making our stay excellent.

Broken ladies loos on ground floor. Boiler broken so no hot water in bedrooms. Front bedrooms very noisy. However, hotel did give a slight discount for problems, and location was good, as was the breakfast.
