The hotel is very close to Railway station and to the bus stop to airport.
It is in the city center and walking distance to the ancient seaport where the famous aquarium and most of the touristic attractions are located. The hotel has nice roof gardens.
The staff is kindly, the breakfast good. The only weak point is the quietness of the rooms because they overlook the rail lines.

I WAS TRAVELLING WITH MY WIFE , OUR 3 YEARS OLD SON AND A FRIEND.WE WERE FOR THE FIRST TIME TO GENOA FOR THE TECHNOFOLLIES EXCIBITION.WE LIKED VERY MUCH THE MARINA PLACE WITH AQUARIUM ETC.BUT GENOA IN GENERAL IS AN UGLY,DIRTY CITY, VERY EXPENSIVE.

Hotel Bellevue is in a great location, very close to the railway station and easy to find. The price was reasonable for a middle range hotel. The hotel is also close to the old town and so accessible without effort on foot (up hill though but thats Genova). Not flash but the bathroom was spacious and clean, and bed was comfortable... felt safe..
Reception staff a bit terse on occasion but generally helpful (I spoke no Italian)...

Quite, clean rooms. Friendly, competent staff. Large breakfast room and plenty to eat. Excellent location if you want to be near the main railroad station. Not necessarily the best location for nightlife. A few restaurants. Can walk to most sites and harbor. We would return to this hotel.

my partner and I had a lovely stay here. It is very close to the train station. The staircase leading up to the hotel is right next to the station which is very convenient but it was a bit tiring especially when you have to carry the heavyload up. Despite that, hotel staff was great and breakfast was plentiful (for us). we would recommend this hotel to anyone (for this price, proximity to station and service)

It's a good hotel with nice buffet breakfast. Next time I will ask for a room at the last floor because the one we had at the second floor wasn't very quiet. In the night infact, I heared the noise of the train station that is just a little bit under the hotel.

The hotel DOES NOT offer parking, unlike what the website claims. There is a private garage next to the hotel which has its own open hours (closes at night) and costs 15-19 Euros per day. Parking in the nearby streets is hopeless in the rush hours and you must be lucky if you can find a spot to leave the car enought time for chek in. Clean, spacious rooms. Located in a central but certainly less charming area of Genova. Overall impression is positive.

Pas facile pour se garer. Situé très proche de la gare centrale ( Attention , pas de l'autre, sinon on tourne en rond pendant iun moment)
Parking payant tout près. Cher ( 15 € pour petite voiture ) mais pas moyen de faire autrement

Bellevue is a nice small hotel midtown of the very lively center of Genova. Though the hotel is next to the railway station, the city noise is not dramatic, especially in rooms located on the backside of the hotel (I guess a really quiet hotel in Genova is impossible to find!). And the near bus and railway station is definitely a plus (3 min. walking distance), when you like to use public transportation. The staff is friendly, informal and helpful. The cleaning service is exceptional good (especially in comparison to other Italian hotels). The free internet connection is very slow, so better go to the internet Cafe, 5 min walking distance away.
Genova is a really beautiful city (not many tourists but a Palazzo at every corner), and the hotel is on the west part of the center. Walking to the east part of the center will take 30 to 40 minutes.
All in all I can really recommend this hotel! I would stay there again!

Average 3* hotel in great location if arriving in Genoa by train (150 meters from Stazione Principe). 10 minute walk to cruise ship piers. 15 minute walk to Centro Storico. One has to climb a long flight of stairs from the entrance to reach the very funky lift, so not good for the ambulatorily challenged. Breakfast average to a little above average. I'd stay there again.

Age & ability may be a concern as the 50meters from the train,as specified, are up a hill or a long flight of stairs;likewise in the hotel, the amount of stairs to climb before and after the use of the elevator in order to get to room.Otherwise, a great hotel and staff!

I enjoyed the location of this hotel. It was close enough to the train station, as I arrived at 1:00 am, yet it did not have the feel of a typical "train station area" hote. I was easy to get around, especially using a bus as I could just get on any one that went to the Principe train station. This was a great help to a single female traveler, especially at night. The only problem I encountered was that the hotel did not fix their E-mail for the clients. The e-mail was not working for my entire stay.

Hotel is basic but adequate and is situated just above the railway station so close your windows completely to avoid the noise. You need a 10 minute walk (or 2 stops on the Metro)to get to the old town and modernised port area. Cinque Terre and Portofino are well worth a visit on the train.

The nights I stayed, the hotel was not very full (in mid-summer!), so it was very quiet. The interior has much less character and charm than photos of the exterior suggest. The terrace did provide a nice place to enjoy the evening in spite of the view of the working port. Its convenience to Stazione Principe (trains and buses) is exceptional (my reason for choosing it) and the old city isn't too far of a walk, but the neighborhood might be dodgy at night. I would recommend it for convenience, staff and cleanliness, though not for atmosphere.

The only bad thing was you could hear the trains arrive, but this did not disturb our sleep. We had a balcony overlooking the train depot and the harbor. This would be ideal for staying the night before boarding the train (as it is about 1 block) or a ship (10.00 euro taxi ride), but alas not the airport (25.00 to 30.00 euro taxi ride. The employees were very helpful and all we spoke to spoke good English. We only stayed over night but we enjoyed our walk around town. Had a wonderful meal at a little cafe and visited a couple of museums. I would highly recommend this hotel for its service and price as we ran into 2 other couples from our ship and 1 said they paid 150.00 euro and the other paid 215.00 euro at other hotels in the same area. I cannot comment on the breakfast as we had to leave for the airport at 5:45 AM.

Apart from a lack of knowledge/information about local bus services (they should get a local timetable for guests reference) I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay there again.

finding the hotel was not really easy (knowing which highway exit to use, i.e. Genova west, would have been useful). Surroundings are so-so, and the quietness in Summer is probably not granted (vicinity of main station, including night trains) if one likes to open the windows. however the rooms are air-conditioned. A pity the parking facilities are so scarce, the ones with space available for rent very expensive and not a guarantee against having your car broken in and visited by burglars. Breakfast was a little disorganised - wonder what it would be in high season! Besides that, great value for money, very pleasant rooms, end very friendly personnel. Ideal location for visiting Genova by foot.
