The Hotel-Restaurant Les Armures is a historic landmark. Originally the oldest café in Geneva (in parts dating back to the 13th century), it has been thoroughly restored through the years. A truly fabulous hotel, expensive but worth it for that something a little bit special.Actually a 5* (I think it says 4* on the website). Quiet and discrete and much more sleek and modern than portrayed in the photographs. The bathrooms are acres of marble and fluffy white towels whilst the bedroom had been renovated to perfection combining modern with antique. Also the bed was so big we lost each other!

I had three days in the hotel and the only criticism would be the access to the restaurant. I found it odd that a five star hotel would require one to go outside to access the restaurant, which could be uncomfortable in inclement weather. The food, ambience and service in the restaurant was very good.

The restaurant Les Armures, known as one of the oldest in the city, offers Swiss specialities such as raclette or fondue, as well as high-end French cuisine. You can choose between two air-conditioned floors (the Salle des Artistes or the Carnozet) and the charming outside terrace.
The restaurant welcomes you 7 days a week.
