The Hotel Montana was very handy for the main train station linked to the airport. Staff were friendly and the hotel had a homely feel. The room (number 61) was on the top floor and I had a small balcony overlooking the busy Rues des Alpes. At the end of the street is Lake Geneva. The tram stop was just across the road and I travelled over the left bank a lot. Breakfast was self-service and food choice good. I would use hotel again without question.

It was the worst hotel that I had stayed in Geneva. I suggest you not to advise such a hotel on your web site to your customers.

Because we travel with motorcycles our top priority is to have a secure and private indoor parking for the bikes. During making the reservation I really wanted to be sure about the parking and sent many emails to the hotel about that, because we didn't want to park the bikes in some public parking hall. So it appeared anyway as we arrived. The parking was in a shopping centre a few streets away. There we met one madman, who almost killed us, because his duty was to keep all the motorbikes out from that parking hall. He spoke only french and didn't want to understand that we had a permission to park there. The hotel staff contacted the park house manager and our bikes were permitted to stay there. And luckily they were not stolen or damaged. Rooms in the hotel were very small and could have been cleaned better. There was also heatwave at Geneva, so we had to sleep with window open and the street was very noisy all the night through. We were using earplugs while sleeping. I recommend those. Breakfast was a bit modest but ok. The surrounding area is quite "interesting". But at the same time served a big variation of restaurants, both ethnic and swiss. I think this small hotel would need some renovation it would make it at least cosy in that noisy neighbourhood. The rooms are quite worn out. It was cheap for Geneva standard. Staff was nice.

Everything about the hotel was fine. Good value for money for a 3 star hotel few steps from the main railway station.

The rooms were old and not clean, the bathroom was old and in complete disrepair. Breakfast was very poor quality (no fruit, bread/croissants were stale, coffee was terrible). Staff was nice however.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Montana. The hotel is hard to beat. It’s reasonably priced. It's conveniently located just down the street from the station (Gare du Cornavin), is close to Lac Leman, and is just a short walk or tram ride from everything else. The hotel staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and very clean and boasted a super comfortable bed. We were able to hear every word and peal of laughter from our neighbors, a rather energetic group of friends, but they did eventually quiet down around 1 a.m. ;o) On the "bright" side, the impressive drapes kept out every ounce of light. Our alarm clock came in handy. We didn’t miss the excellent breakfast. Another plus, Manor, the totally amazing Swiss department store / grocery / restaurant extraordinaire, and, in our opinion, best place to buy chocolate, is just around the corner! We'll definitely stay at Hotel Montana again.

In general the price is high with respect to the room and service provided. Building and room furnishing very old, bathroom quite simple. Main advantage it is very close to the railway and bus station.

This hotel is so quick to get to. As it is only 10 mins from the airport in the train and then a short walk acrooss the road for the hotel bear left as you come out of the station, I would say it holds the record for the quickest weve ever been able to get settled in a new city. Just jump on the train walk out of the station and ask for the rue de alpes.... easy peasy. Geneva is well worth a visit. We were totally paranoid about how expensive it was but its not so. I would recommend the lord nelson pub for their beer menu especially the kwak beer. The hotel breakfasts are excelent and the breakfast girl keeps the breakfast area spotless. The rooms were unbeleivably quiet and the beds comfier than ours at home. You are a short walk from the lake and shops are nearby.

I found this hotel to be pretty run down, it is an old building that has not been renovated over the years however they did start painting the floor on which i was staying, the smell of paint kept me awake most that night. My bedroom faced on to the street where there was a nice view of Geneva street life, naturally at night the sound of traffic was quite loud. The bedroom was very spacious and the bathroom small enough. I did not find the staff friendly however I believe it is more of a cultural thing. It is close to the railway station which I found very convienient. I won't be back in a hurry.

Montana is a great basic hotel. It suited us because it was so close to the train station and we only had a short stay. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The Rooms were old but clean and large.

Geneva is very expensive so value for price is pretty weak. This being said, it was a good choice, close to train station and restaurants. Friendly staff. Worn but clean room. I'd stay there again.

Compared to most hotels in Geneva, the price was very good. The staff speaks English (French first and a little Italian) and tries to be very accomodating. I requested that my room be held for a late arrival (after 11:00 PM and there was no problem with this). The inclusion of breakfast with the room is a plus considering that restaurants are not cheap; breakfast was available from 6 AM. until 10 AM -- allowing plenty of time. It is not a new hotel, but the room is clean and there's a mini-bar. My room even had a little balcony. There was also a fan in my room (no air-conditioning, but I really didn't need it because temperatures were very comfortable -- even though it was the middle of August). My only complaint was that it took the water quite some time to get hot. However, turn it on, walk away from it and do something else for three to five minutes, it WILL get hot. The location is excellent: half a city block from the Railway Station -- which puts you in walking distance from everything including the Lake. There are restaurants everywhere so there are several nearby choices of food. However, it is not clear from the map on the listing that it is so close to the Railway Station. The map on the listing looks as if it's near the Airport, but since I researched other online maps first, I knew that it was near the Railway Station. The Railway Station is a 7 minute trip to/from the Airport. By the way, if arriving late at the airport, there are several self serve machines available for getting Swiss Francs from credit cards, bancomats, etc. You may also change money at the hotel, but you should have at least a little currency on hand when leaving the airport. I would stay here again without hesitation.

It was ideally suited for me being close to station. Although breakfast could have been more exciting, it was good value. All staff were friendly and if I was in Geneva again I would re use it.

Well situated for public transport links and only a few minutes walk from the lake and Old Town. Somewhat noisy at night if you like to have your windows open on those sultry summer nights, but otherwise quite satisfactory.

The room was a little less tidy than I have come to expect in a Swiss Hotel. The location was very convient to the Gare and the staff was polite but a little less attentive than one would like. For example, it took a day and a half before we could get someone to give us the proper key for the in-room safe. They had the key at the desk but just didn't know which one opened the safe. The breakfast was more than adequate. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked is several places. Everything was clean but just looked a little dingy. If traveling by rail and only spending a few days I would consider staying at the Montana again other wise I would look around some.

This hotel location is convenient and staff are nice and friendly. Breakast was good enough. It was quite noisy during daytime as the busy traffic and construction sound. As my suggestion that rooms need more update renovations.Hot water had to wait a while to heat up. We thought the price was fair as Europe standard.Got few internet places around and very good Chinese food around the corner.

I did answer everything due to the response I`ve had from a client, cause I`m a travel agent and did send one to your hotel. He was so much grateful with my choice. So I thank you very much for this and overall for your feedback. I was very much surprised for your service, quick response and I felt very much secure selling something I do not know. Thank you very much again, a certainly I do hope we can wokr together in the future. King regards.. Paula Caviglia

We thought the price for the room was high, as compared to other rooms in other countries; however, this may be the norm for Geneva. The location was super and easily found once we realized they were located in Geneva and not at the Airport station. We misinterpreted the location on the map and got off at the Airport station. We found the map to be easily misunderstood and would recommend a little more clarity to indicate the hotel location to be in Geneva. The surrounding area was full of restaurants. You can walk from the hotel to the train station through an underground and not have to cross the busy intersection. The hotel had a fantastic breakfast, complete with cereal, ham, breads, juice and coffee.

It was useful that the hotel was so close to the station, because the rain was tipping down when I arrived. The hotel was a bit dingy really but it probably represented value for money inr central Geneva. The breakfast was good
