We stayed for two nights on a tour of Bavaria. This was the best hotel we stayed in. The resturant is excellent, the rooms clean and spacious the people informed, courteous and professional. We both used the spa facilities which were also to be recommended. I'd stay again and for longer.

Our stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was the end of our Germany/Italy travels, primaily by train. We came here because of the scenery and Zugspitz, and because I had photos from Dads' 1945 wartime visit to compare. The Reindl was beautiful! Although we arrived by train near 8PM and had not been able to be specific about arrival time when making reservations two months earlier, Reindl's shuttle, to our amazement, was at the station to greet us!! The personal service, accomodations and food was great, with three exceptions - there was no "good" English explanation of foods and spa services (the main reason I haven't given a perfect 10 to this establishment), they were celebrating "French week" in the restaurant so German fare was limited, and they permit cigar smoking in the bar/lounge areas. The restaurant service might be too upscale for many common travelers, as the staff is very serious about their role and the presentation, however the experience was less daunting than educational and there are plenty of other dining options in town for more casual adults. All the staff, and I believe owner(s) as well, spoke with us and clearly desired to address all our needs. I do not recommend taking small children here however, all said we'd return to the Reindl, hopefully knowing more of the German language, in a heartbeat!

An easy recommendation for accomodation in Garmisch. A bargain for a top rated hotel! The quality and peacefulness of the hotel was well complimented by a professional and friendly staff. As a bonus, restaurants and train station were within easy walking distance.
