Located in the heart of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Garmischer Hof hotel is a charming property with an individual and friendly ambience.
Garmisch downtown with its pedestrian zone, the congress center, the olympic ice arena, the Alpspitz Wellenbad (an indoor and outdoor pool recreation area), the main railway station, as well as the station for the Zugspitzbahn are all in close proximity or within short walking distance of the hotel.

A super hotel; easy walking distance from the train station, shopping, sigthseeing, restaurants and a very helpful and informative tourist office. Our quiet, bright room at the back had a large balcony, and from inside or out we could enjoy a view of the nearby mountains where outstanding hiking trails abound. Prior to arrival, we added an extra night to our stay, which we were especially pleased at, once we got to the place. Unfortunately, one staff member could hardly wait to remind us when we 'must leave' on both the night before departure, and the morning of with a knock at our door. This was the only sour note on an otherwise wonderful stay; we would return any time.

Excellent hotel. Have stayed here before several years ago. Competent staff, English speaking, excellent location to Garmisch central district & Partenkirchen and public bus transportation, good breakfast, good restaurant in hotel if needed, we ate there on arrival, excellent value, adequate parking in rear, internet, 5 min walk to train station, easy walk to Zugspitz train. New wing added since last stay. Recommend a room in the rear facing the mountains + quieter. A little noisy on the main street side, but OK. We arrived from Denver, CO, Munich airport to S-Bahn S-8, transferred at Pasing (easy connect) to train to garmisch. Used the Baverian ticket 27 Euro total for 2 people. Will definitely stay there again if in Garmisch.
