Staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely and the breakfast very good. Only one small point - the seating area around the pool is a bit small and there was only 1 umbrella - so there was a mad scamble to get it in the baking sun! More shelter needed.

An interesting conversion of an old ruined mill.Unfortunately, soundproofing is inadequate. Our room was quite small compared to others which had an essential comfortable chair (ours did not).We had booked 5 months in advance. On arrival we were kept waiting for quite some time while the receptionist conducted a casual conversation.Reception staff were not of the professional standard which we expect of such an hotel.Despite the hotel being quite some distance from the nearest good restaurant, the nice looking hotel restaurant had few patrons and the food was not of high quality or well cooked - again the service was not very professional (admittedly the restaurant is not publicised on the website).We do not believe that this hotel warrants its present 4 star rating (especially when compared with the other hotel reviewed in the same region (Villa san Paolo)
