We tried to cancel before we arrived as we didn't want to be in that location, but the 21 day cancellation policy wasn't clear and I missed it. I then contacted the hotel who said we would have to pay 30% of our entire stay if we cancelled. There was nothing on their website nor Venere website to say what the penalty was. So we didn't want to loose 500 euros so we decided we had to stay. When we arrived, we found out that whereas the address said Frejus it wasn't in or near the town of Frejus, but 16km in the territory of Frejus. It was at least 30-45 mins drive to anywhere, so after staying in a room that was far too small for a 10 night stay (just about for an overnight stay) we requested that with a day's notice we would leave the hotel. The female owner was incredibly rude and aggressive saying that this is the busiest time of the year for her and she had refused people and if we wanted to leave then we would have to pay for the entire 10 night stay. This is a very expensive hotel, so we were very upset. We did not know at the time that this was in fact illegal and that we had the right to leave, but she bullied us. We later found out that she has done this to other people before because having dinner at the other local hotels, there have been other holiday tourists that have left her place. We had to stay and had an OK time but I would not recommend the place.

It was a hell of a charming place - a bit far away from everything, but what a class! Beautiful, great service, excellent food, an incredible hospitality! if the hotel would have been bigger, it would remind me more of a 4.5/5 star hotel than a 4 star (and believe me,I've already seen 5 stars hotels who didn't deserve them). Next time I'm on the french riviera, I'll definetly try to get the same room at the same place. FYI: you better reserve a table at the restaurant before your arrival - a bit expensive and not really part of the hotel, but what a pleasure for the mouth eyes and nose!

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. You cannot cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a non refundable or prepaid rate.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in: the rooms are available at anytime after 3 p.m.
Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than midday.

INCLUDED/NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Pets are allowed at an additional charge of €8,00.
Additional beds are free for children under the age of 4, otherwise they cost €19,00.
Restaurant menu costs €38,00.
Breakfast is not included in the price and costs €16,00 for the continental and €18,00 for the country-style buffet.

CANCELLATION POLICY
To guarantee a booking 30% of the stay will be charged on your credit card as a deposit. In case of cancellation between 15 and 30 days prior to the date , you will be charged 50% of your stay . In case of cancellation less than 15 days before the date, the entire stay will be charged on your credit card
You may cancel your reservation without penalty up until 30 days before your arrival date, by accessing the Your Reservations page. You cannot cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a non refundable or prepaid rate.
