At the restaurant the meals are excellent and the employees were very kind with us because our german language is a bit poor. We went to Freiburg im Breisgau to visit the town and the Xmas market.

We were treated very well by the staff. The rooms are large by European standards but the mattresses are old and very hard. Parking was very convenient and the breakfast which was included was excellent.

Would never have found it without a satellite navigation aid. Too far from town. Restaurant staff v good, food Ok. Exceptionally hot/stifling in rooms and no air-con (or even a fan) would dread being there in hotter summer weather. Disappointing - definitely not 4star standard. Hardly any English spoken.

The staff was very courteous and competent. There are extensive hiking trails nearby for some relaxing quiet greenery. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. The town of Freiburg is a short bus and tram ride away. Our room was next to the entrance so it was not very quiet or private, but I'm sure the rest of the rooms at the Lowen were better. In all we had a relaxing stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to relax in comfort.

beautiful 4 stars hotel in a beautiful community, the town people was just as friendly as the receptionist. I was amazed when i got into the room, huge and spacious. Very clean, the surrounding was beautiful and air was fresh. Had a wonderful stroll around town after dinner. Highly recommend to future travellers.
HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL
By car
From the highway A5 take the exit Freiburg-Mitte towards Freiburg. Proceed along approximately 10 km on the federal road B31 towards Donaueschingen/Titisee-Neustadt, passing two tunnels. Exit at Kappel/Littenweiler, then turn left and you will find the hotel after 200 metres on the right hand side.

By train
From Freiburg main railway station: take the escalator from the platform up to the tram. Take line 1 (heading for Littenweiler) and get off at Laßbergstraße. Then take bus line 17 (towards Kappel) and get off at the Hotel Löwen bus stop (in front of the hotel).
