connection by road map

Tusculum area was well known to the ancient Romans, in particular to roman patricians and nobles who chose this area for the mild climate during the summer period, giving birth to unique architectonic treasures.

Villa Tuscolana was built on the ruins of Marco Tullio Cicerone ancient dwelling.

From the XVII century the hills around were chosen by cardinals and princes to build residential villas. Villa Tuscolana’ façade was projected by the famous architect Luigi Vanvitelli while he was working on the “Caserta’s Reggia”.

I enjoyed staying there. The most forgetable thing was a view from the room especially at night. It is a walkable distance to the central town. Frascati is not a big town. You would be able to know the structure of the town in less than two hours. Enjoy your stay!

We were on the fifth floor and had truly amazing views out. The staff were friendly and helpful, but you need to ASK to get information, they're not so proactive. Rooms were small but clean. While the location is beautiful, and Frascati is a town with a lovely atmosphere, you will find yourself way up a hill. At age 72 the walk down to the town was manageable(10-15 minutes to the train station, 30 minutes to central Rome (Termini) from there) but not the uphill return journey. The hotel runs a shuttle which costs 5 euro per person per trip and will be there 5-10mins after you call them. Taxis in Frascati seem only to be a rumour. Trains to Rome only every HOUR outside rush hour, and the service ends shockingly early in the evening (about 8:50pm I think). Under 4 euros return fare. So, if you like the idea of a bit of peace at the end of each day in hectic Rome (we needed it), Frascati is a good option. Probably not for the younger (partying) visitor then, unless a late night taxi back from Rome is affordable (about 10miles, don't know how much). However, the hotel facilities are not an option, with the bar and restaurant always empty (and the food in the latter not worth eating; breakfast is basic, dinner not worth it). Thankfully, Frascati town has some nice restaurants where nobody can speak much English, which adds to fun.

Public aereas are very cold in winter. Heating is not working well. Rooms are not comfortable and bathrooms very exiguous. Breakfeast is a disaster. But employees are very nice and the hotel is quasi empty in winter. Trafic to enter rome is terrible. Better stay around and enjoy great food. Not in the hotel of course...

A remarkable building with fantastic views over Rome. No a/c in rooms, so hot in August. This may be why there were few guests. Did not try restaurant.

We had an evening meal on arrival and found the service incredibly slow. When the food did arrive, it was on cold plates and the food itself luke warm. By the time my husband received his vegetables he had finished the rest of the main course. Evening entertainment was unfortunately provided in the early hours of the morning by a drunken bunch of Japanese tourists eager to practise their singing and playing skills on the piano which was "intelligently" placed in the hall leading from the bedrooms. Still, there was always breakfast to look forward to. Service again poor and very very slow.

A lovely old hotel in beautiful surroundings. Slightly tricky to find from the website map, but no matter. Very professionally run, comfortable, wonderful decor and a good restaurant.

Professional and very friendly staff. Lovingly restored building with very well tended garden. The view through our window, directly under the "Sala Belvedere", provided the most impressive panorama we've ever seen.

Good quality vs price. Nice location, all though remote - we couldnt get taxi from city to hotel one night and had to walk. Beautiful view and nice old hotel, though without obvious facilities that could be expected from similar large places, e.g. a gym.

We were a little disappointed. This is more of a corporate meeting place than a leisure establishment. They were not really equiped to cater to tourists or their needs. Overprice for the services provided although the location was very nice.
