I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Ritz. The staff, the pool, proximity to the beach, the food and wonderful service made my stay in Forte dei Marmi much more enjoyable than expected. Make sure you chose your hotel room well avoiding the rooms near the lift.

Apart from the amusing situation of the police closing the seafront for the big cycle race (therefore not letting us find the hotel for over an hour!) We had an excellent stay.

Ritz Forte Dei Marmi is on a main beach 4 lane busy street and rooms get extensive traffic noise. What made it worse is that I was charged an extra 65 Euro for a "balcony with Sea view"...which put me right in the noisest part of the hotel. In addition, the room was old and worn out...definitiely not what I expected for the luxury hotel price I paid.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
From Milan, take the A1 highway towards the south. Near Parma, take the A15 highway A15 direction La Spezia. At La Spezia take the A12 highway towards the south and exit at Versilia.
From Rome, take the A1 highway to Firenze, then take highway A11 to Lucca and then follow the indications to Viareggio and Versilia.
