The Boccaccio was fantastic! The service was unbelievable and the breakfast was great. Great Coffee. The location was perfect for the train station, Ponte Vecchio and all the other sites. Our room was huge and the bathroom was great. Very enjoyable, thank you.

As Florence hptels go, Boccaccio is pretty good. certainly not 4 starts by any standard. A bit pricey for the accomodations provided. Location is perfect. central to all the Florence attractions and right next to the train station.

The hotel was very convenient to the train station. The street was a normal city type street. We stayed out late and it wasn't scary going back to the hotel. The staff was great. There could have been a coffee bar but I was able to get coffee at only a price of 2.5 euro.I enjoyed the hotel and the stay.

Excellent hotel, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, they even have like a vallet parking service so you don't have to worry about finding a place to park your car. Even though the surroundings are not the best, it is safe and it is close to all the main attractions. Very clean and nice, spacious rooms and very quiet.

This hotel is so close to the train station, making it easy to travel to other cities for day trips, which is what we were looking for. If you are just staying in Florence, you might want to be closer to the center of the city. The breakfast was very good, and the staff was friendly. The towels smelled a little strange, but that would be my only complaint.

I chose Hotel Boccaccio because of it's claimed proximity to the Santa Maria Novella train station and was pleased at the short walk and easy access to the station. Everything is within walking distance in Florence and I walked easily to the leather markets, Piazza Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. As a female travelling alone I was unsure about walking the return trip to the hotel after dinner, however the walk at 12.30am was very comfortable. With many other hotels on the street there were other people out and about at that time.

..to bath or not to bath..this is the question..at first we were pleasantly surprised by the Jacuzzi in the room (the only one jacuzzi in the hotel was all for us!) but when one of us used it the water leaked on the floor from beneath the tub and when we phoned the front desk, the night host could not do anything to help us but told us to use some towels on the floor to absorb the water (and it was a lot!). We could not use the bath anymore..if a service is provided in the hotel room it should properly be functional. We were expecting them to change the room or provide an alternative service to make our stay more confortable; we can understand that something may not be working for some reason, but we cannot understand why nothing can be done to balance the inconvenience...many excuses the following morning...no bath...no discount.

The staff at reception were fantastic. They organised tours, bookings etc very efficiently. The included buffet breakfast was the best we had during our month in europe. Once we found the hotel[the website map wasnt very clear] it was very handy to both St marks square and the rialto bridge. Plenty of restaurants close by and a gondola stop 1 minute from the hotel.

I've stayed here many times and LOVE IT. The nearness to the train station is always the first draw...but the outstanding service, rooms and moderate price is just as attractive. The internet point in the lobby is very convenient, but, to save a few Euros a few doors down there is a very inexpensive internet point. I'd send any traveller here. It never disappoints.

The hotel is conveniently located very close to the station, within walking distance from all places of interest. The staff is helpful, and check-in/check-out procedures are fast. Our room was not very big, but it was clean and equipped with everything we expected. We had a back room, with windows that opened on a quiet veranda, so we had no noise at all. Breakfast is basic, but served in a pleasant room with painted ceiling. The luggage storage room is under key, so you feel safe leaving your things there for the day. The area is not very attractive, but the city is so beautiful, that we didn't mind the hotel surroundings.

THe Hotel was nice and clean. Close, really really close from the train station, the only problem is that the areas around were not nice.... Nothing happens, we were secure, but wasn't nice and the first night we were not felling that secure about being around late at night. THe recepcionist were all of them really really good and everyone knew English.

Good, solid hotel. Would definitely stay here when in Florence again. Points to be aware of before booking - no wifi in rooms as I had anticipated, streets in Florence are very noisy so bring earplugs if you sleep lightly. Breakfast is just ok. But the room was cleaned well each day and the staff were friendly.

This is my fifth stay at Boccaccio Hotel. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I have only one minor complaint and that is when the rooms are cleaned for the day the cleaning people tend to use too much bleach or cleaning solution in the bathrooms and the order lingers in the room. I had to keep the window open almost during my entire stay. If they could cut down on using harsh chemicals that linger that would be great. Other than this very minor detail, i will definitely stay again.

We chose the Hotel Boccaccio because of its closeness to the train station on the map. When we walked to the hotel from the train, we found it even closer than we had anticipated. The staff was very helpful in answering our quesions. The breakfast was good. Due to the low value of the dollar, the hotel seemed a little expensive, but what isn't in Europe these days. We would stay there again due to its location.

We stayed at Hotel Boccaccio for 4 nights in October 2007. It was chosen for the closeness to the train station (we flew via Pisa airport) and easy access to all the sights (we walked everywhere). The receptionist was charming and our room 104, although a little small, was at the back overlooking an interior courtyard. We were not troubled by exterior noise, although interior sound-proofing was not so good. Our bathroom was very clean and modern with an excellent shower. Clean towels appeared every day. The last night we were troubled by mosquitoes so we regretted not packing our own bug zapper! The location of the hotel is a little rough, although not at all threatening, and there are plenty of people on the street late evening. Not sure I would want to be out after midnight. The are local shops. The receptionist recommended the supermarket by the station: it is awful, shop round the corner! We found a nice restaurant within a few minutes walk (turn left out of the hotel and left again down the side street. At the next junction the restaurant is on the opposite left corner). The restaurant associated with the hotel is good too. The main disappointment was the poor quality of the breakfast. Unfruity orange juice, tasteless coffee and flabby bread. Rather inexcusable when such good materials are available locally.

We were very happy with our three days at Hotel Boccaccio. On the positive side, all staff with whom we dealt were friendly and helpful, our room and the public areas were very clean, the air conditioning and plumbing worked well, and the breakfast was more than adequate . The convenient location - one block from the train station and two blocks from from major car rental agencies, - meant that we didn't need taxis. Moreover, the hotel is within walking distance of most major Florence sites. On the negative side, like some other reviewers, we found the beds too firm and our standard double room a little cramped. Although there was considerable street noise during the daytime and evening, it was quite quiet during sleeping hours. On balance, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our first visit to Florence was made easy by the information offered by the staff at check-in: when and where to visit, shop, and when to take a bus. Hotel staff booked music concerts for us which was very helpful.

Boccaccio seems to be specialised in tourist clients as Florence is a very touristic destination. It's quite confortable near to the Florence Central Station hotel, small and with good services for a three star hotel. The construction right beside the hotel was a little distressing, but understandable. It was nicely located for the various shops, museums, and churches that we wanted to see/visit. The price was fair. The spaciousness of the room was wonderful and it was very nice having air conditioning available since it was quite warm during our stay. I liked having the internet available, although the first couple of times I used it there was no sign stating that it cost money to use it. It wouldn't have really made a difference if I had known that it cost as the price was fair enough. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They always had the information we needed and a genuine smile for us. We would happily return to your hotel.

This was our first time in Florence and at this hotel. The main reason I chose it was because it was very close to the train station which was convenient since we traveled by train from city to city. It was literally two blocks away which worked out and since Florence is a city smaller than Rome, it was easy to walk to all the other important sights. The area was not as nice as other areas of Florence, but overall not bad either. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was good, but the room was small and very dark. There should be better lighting installed with brighter bulbs. This made the room seem drab and less inviting. If they brighten up the rooms with lighting, you could probably deal with the smaller size since you are out most of the day.

I thought the staff was a bit mechanical in attitude (I am sure as an effort to efficiency)and I recommend ear plugs for people who stay here not only from the noise outside (esp. after 9p.m.) but from the noise in the hallways. If I return, I'm staying here.

I paid the additional fee for a "superior double room." This was a complete waste: it was simply a regular double room with a third cot/bed squeezed in. It would have been alright if it had been advertized as a "normal triple room," but nothing about it was "superior."

the hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. The lobby was lovely. I stayed here specifically so I could be very near the train station for an early morning departure - and it was very convenient for that while still within walking distance to other part of the city. The only drawback was the noise level on the streets outside the hotel (people loudly partying) untill all hours of the night!

Small hotel in a busy area close to the main train and coach station but once inside the hotel was suprisingly quiet. The room was very small just enough room for the bed but had a nice feel to it due to the decoration and pictures. There was an on suite bathroom All main toursist attractions are within easy walking distance of the hotel. The only down side was the number of what appeared to be immigrants hanging around in the streets at all times of the day which was quite intimidating.

There was always a need to air the room for some minutes.... Breakfast was OK, except for the fact that one only coffee was offered; a second one was not included!!! I didn't like that at all, that shouldn't be that way when someone offers "breakfast included".

Boccaccio is located just next to the Firenze S.M.N Station with only 5 mins walk, which is an ideal loaction if you need to catch train to next location in an early morning. The room is clean and tidy as in photo in website, but the spaciousness of rooms is a bit small than I expected in this price. The front desk staff are helpful and introduced the local attraction to me proactively, which surprised me that the staff treated an asian tourist like me in such a freindly way. The enivorment of the breakfast room is so nice as in photo and the lady who serving us was very freindly. The quality and choices of the continential breakfast is just good and enough to us.

I stayed in Boccacio Mid September 2006 and would have to say that the location is ideal for anyone travelling by train or bus. The hotel is just around the corner. a one minute walk. The staff were excellent. Most helpful on arrival. The one thing that I would say is that rooms are a little on the small side and smell a little musty. They could do with freshening up the rooms a little. And the walls aren't too thick so if there is noise in the room next door, you will hear it. Breakfast was standard continental. Coudn't complain there either. The rooms were clean and the staff v friendly. And they will keep your luggage in a secure room for the day. The hotel says it has satelite tv but that's really only sky news. All that said, I probably wouldn't stay there again given that the rooms were a little musty.

The rooms were small, which is typical for europe, but this one may have been a little smaller than typical. The room was very clean and the bathroom nice. The bed and pillow were hard as a rock, which were tough to deal with for me, but my wife did fine. Hotel is in a good location with a nice bar/sandwich shop across the street. If you bring a car expect to pay 23 euro's per night to park...they valet, but still steep. If going to the Uffuzi or Academia, don't be stupid and not make reservations a week before. We had to wait in some long lines that didn't move. Restaurants...Boccaccio and Le Fonticine were great. Cibreo, the supposed best restaurant in Florence was not all its cracked up to be and overpriced too.

On the whole the stay was good, the room was carefully cleaned everyday, the included breakfast rich. The price is appropriate considering the central position of the hotel in the city and the offered comfort.

The room we stayed in bore no resemblance to the photographs on the site, but we still had a nice room (we paid extra to upgrade to superior). The bathroom was huge and the shower cavernous which was fantastic. Front desk staff were very helpful, whipping out a map as soon as we arrived, circling the popular sites. They're associated with a travel agency next door which booked our Uffizi and Accademia tickets for the next day in almost no time. Very handy. Proximity to the train station is excellent, and though it's a bit of a walk to get into town (extra 10 minutes max) it's worth it to not have to haul luggage all over town.

Excellent hotel if you want to be close to railway station (3 min) and easy to find. 15-20 min walk to Ponte Vecchio and Offices. A few restaurants nearby. Our double room was a bit small but nice, clean and quiet. Nice and spacious bathroom. Good breakfast buffet included. Staff kind and helpful. Our stay was perfect and restful after long walks through the historic center of Florence. Ask for a map and don't forget it! We recommand Hotel Boccaccio to those who travel by train, especially if you want to use their luggages room on last day.

We really enjoyed our stay in Boccaccio- even though it was only for three nights. Our first impression of the exterior of the hotel was not that positive as it seemed grimy. However, on entering the reception area and meeting with the receptionist all fears were dispelled. The receptionist who spoke fluent English and French, supplied us with a a map of Firenze and highlighted the sights; he would have pre-booked the Uffizi or the Academia if we had needed which would have been a lot cheaper than booking on-line. The rooms were sufficiently spacious and splotlessly clean. There was a generous supply of good quality towels which were refreshed daily. Breakfast which consisted of a selection of meats, cheese, yogurt and cereal, tea or coffee, was served in a tastefully decorated dining room. I enjoyed my stay and would return to Boccaccio.

I had one of the most pleasant stay at the Hotel Boccaccio during my 8-day trip to Italy. It is located at a convenient distance from the train station and the city center is within walking distance. I received a warm welcome and got an excellent recommendation for restaurant.

The hotel staff was very friendly and spoke excellent english. The room size was adequate. They offered a wide selection of breakfast items. The location is ideal for those who want to be close to the train station. The sound proofing of the rooms need to be improved, we could hear our neighbor's TV til midnight!

I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms are very clean and of good size. The service is great. The staff are very helpful. The location is very convenient. The only disappointment is the breakfast because they serve excatly the same food every day that we stayed there. If you stay for more than 2 days, you will want some variety. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay. I have recommended this hotel to my friends.

While the single room was quite small, the furnishings were lovely and the room and bath were spotless. The staff was lovely - friendly and helpful in negotiating lost luggage and parking.

This hotel was just a 5 minute walk from the train station. The lobby was beautiful, and our room was great. The staff were very professional and polite, all spoke English. Breakfast was plentiful, and the breakfast room attendant was so sweet, all smiles and very attentive. I would definetely recommend this location and I will return.

The hotel is in a perfect location - about 3 minutes walk from the train station. We requested a quiet back room and were given it. Very clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water in the shower. Breakfast in the very pleasant breakfast room was substantial and the coffee was good. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We walked everywhere from the hotel and, when needed, buses are about 300 metres away. There are some great little restaurants in the area. Go out of the hotel and turn left. First street left go down it. Great deli there. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice and clean and very central but very small rooms. I did request a non-smoking room but someone had obviously used it as a smoking room before as it smelt stale.

We had only one problem. We experienced that the fire alarm rang twice during the first night. We told the protier about this but he only told us that the alarm was very sensitive. We found this answer very problematic. It only showed us that he was absolutely not inteterstid in helping us with the inconvenience of been sudenly awaked in the middle of the night which of course was very disturbing. After a whole day of thinking about this we came home and also noticed that the alarm was blinking in red. I then went down to the receprion and had a second but more persiuasive talk with the portier telling him that I thought the BBTTERIES WERE LOW, he then accepted to have the staff looking into it ond they corrected the problem. This was a little anoying for us.

Our room had a beautiful hardwood floor. The bathroom was cold unless we left the door open (we were there in Jan.) but it was spotlessly clean. The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard (only cold foods) but there was nice ham and cheese to eat with the crusty bread or croissants and cold boiled eggs. We could eat as much as we cared to. The coffee was quite strong by American standards, and we asked for hot milk to cut it by half. We asked for a quiet room on the top floor. It was quiet until a couple with a baby moved into the room next door. The baby cried in the morning and night for two of the three days we were there. The hotel is an easy five minute walk from the central train station. When you exit the train station, turn right, cross the street and continue forward along the curved street. In one block it will deadend right into the hotel. There is a little sandwich shop on the corner just opposite the hotel. The hotel is in a good location; we walked everywhere.

The hotel was ideally situated near the train station and the double room was spotlessly clean although a little small. There was a lovely terrace you could sit out on if you wished. The staff were friendly and there was a wide choice of food for breakfast. We used a restaurant called Vinaine at the end of the side road next to the hotel about 100 metres away.I would recommend this hotel highly

I did not like the fact that some guests were smoking either in the hallway or on the patio and the smoke was seeping into my room. It made the room smell very bad. Also my room was somewhat musty like it had not had any air in there for a long time.
