This was our worst hotel experience in all of Europe. The room had no charm, was not clean when we got there, and did not get cleaned adequately any of the four days that we were there. There were smashed mosquitos on the wall, no shades on the reading lamps, no wall paper or pictures on the wall, and the bathroom down the hall was a joke. Any shower longer than five minutes resulted in a flood out into the hallway. The towels provided were more like table-napkins, and the staff was neither polite nor informative. The location, though not horrible, was not as close to Boboli Gardens and the Ponte Vecchio as the website led us to believe, and our room only had a view of a nasty, water-logged, bug-infested (unusable) porch. We would never recommend this hotel to other travelers. We stayed in many other one and two star hotels for the same price or less throughout Europe that were far superior.

Good location and helpful staff. The only downside was the size of the room and the bathroom facilities. The bathroom itself was very small without a showercurtain so everything was wet afterwards.

This was a very old hotel, with an urgent need for restaurationt too expensive for its quality. Improperly clean rooms with torn wallpapers, the ones facing the street very noisy, inadequate bathroom, no air condition, no frigo in the room, no remote control for the TV, a simply tolerable breakfast. The personel were very friendly and helping but couldn't amend the decadent image of the hotel. Its best advantage is its position, a five minutes walk from the centre of beautiful, fantastic, magic Florence, which makes you forget and forgive everything. Not for a stay longer than a night

the first room we got had a broken sink which was leaking into a bucket set underneath. The water had overflowed onto the carpet, so made the room smell horrible. But the location is good and the price excellent. And the staff allowed us to switch rooms into one that should have been higher priced, but only charged us the originally quoted price.

I booked a room for two with a shared bathroom for three days. The location was great (just outside of all the touristy areas), and had a great view, and the staff was VERY friendly, but I would not stay here again. First, the hotel had no record of my reservation, but was able to offer me a room regardless. The room was quite small, just barely fitting the bed, dresser, and desk. The bed was uncomfortable as the two mattreses kept splitting apart and it was thin. The bathroom was incredibly small and the shower was weak. Also, there were mosquitos at night. Overall, it was very much like a hostel I stayed at in Florence... but this hotel cost twice as much. I would recommened spending 20 euros more and booking a nicer hotel.

FIRST, THE GOOD: PRICE AND LOCATION WERE VERY GOOD. LOCATED ABOUT 300 METERS FROM THE PONTE VECHIO BRIDGE. STAFF WERE HELPFUL AND SPOKE EITHER A LITTLE OR A FAIR AMOUNT OF ENGLISH. THE BREAKFASTS WERE VERY GOOD. NOW, THE BAD: EVEN THOUGH THE ADS INDICATE PARKING AND THERE IS EVEN A SIGN ON THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL THAT SAYS "PARKING", IT IS SEVERAL BLOCKS AWAY AND COSTS 15 EUROS/DAY. AT LEAST IT WAS INSIDE AND I FELT MY CAR WAS SAFE THERE. FINALLY, THE UGLY: THE BATHROOMS ARE SMALL AND THE SHOWERS HAVE NO ENCLOSURES OR CURTAINS. YOU HAVE TO CLEAR THE BATHROOM OF ANYTHING THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET WET TO TAKE A SHOWER. WE LOOKED AT 3 DIFFERENT ROOMS AND ALL WERE THE SAME. THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING ABOUT THE STAY WAS THAT, EVEN THOUGH WE HAD REQUESTED A LOWERE LEVEL ROOM, WE WERE EXILED TO THE "3RD" FLOOR. SINCE THERE WAS A MEZZANINE LEVEL AT THE SECOND LEVEL, WE ENDED UP WITH WHAT WE IN THE US COUNT AS THE 5TH FLOOR- AND DID I MENTION THAT THERE WAS NO LIFT OR BELLPERSON? WE HAD TO TAKE OUR LUGGAGE UP 76 STEPS. WHEN WE CHECKED IN AND I DRAGGED THE LUGGAGE UP THOSE STEPS, I THEN WENT TO PARK THE CAR. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE ROOM, MY WIFE WAS IN TEARS AND SAID: "I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH IT COSTS, I WILL NEVER STAY IN A ROOM OR PLACE LIKE THIS AGAIN."

Spacious rooms. Good room service. Average breakfast. Good english-speaking responsive management. Close to Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens. Public transport available (Routes 11 and 36) but buses were not working when we stayed there due to some road work. Be careful when you have heavy luggage as there are no lifts/elevators. Overall, a resonable deal for the price paid.

Forget this hotel and cancel it from your list of proposal : no lift + no water in the shower : how can someone pretend to be paid without a minimum of services !!!

Unfortunately the only thing good about the hotel was its location, a stones throw away from the Boboli Gardens and a few minutes walk from the Palazzo Pitti and the Ponte Vecchio. The owner was rude, the breakfast was poor, it was being renovated during our stay and we had to avoid the dust and debris as we walked up and down the stairs to our room. I thought I'd booked a bathroom with a bath and found that no rooms in the hotel had a bath. I realise we were staying at the height of season in Florence (which is quite pricey) but in terms of value for money, this Hotel was very poor.

The hotel was very cute. Old fashion. Unfortunately there's no elevator and this would be a minus for anyone unable to climb the flights of stairs. The room was very spacious but no air conditioning, only the remaining box of what looked to once be one. There was a fan. The bathroom was very, very small. Tiny. I'm very tall and had no leg room when sitting on the toilet. ALSO! They should inform people about the shower!! It's just a shower head in the bathroom with no curtain or shower door. So when you take a shower the bathroom becomes a mini swimming pool. I had to dry the floor with some towels and wait for it to dry afterwards to re-enter just to put on my makeup. That was a big minus for me, the bathroom situation. The room was positioned in the front of the hotel on the main street and the noise level in the mornining was incredible! Very noisy. I would also say that the room although cute could use a new wallpapering job. The paper was coming off of the wall with chipping plaster underneath. The breakfast was good. Unfortunately the hotel bar wasn't available, I think that they were redoing it. I'm not sure. However, the stay was nice apart from the negatives that I've stated. I'm not sure if I would stay there again only because of the bathroom situation. I don't want to have to cleanup water in the bathroom of my hotel room. The staff was very polite. The location was very good as it is near the Boboli Garden and Palazzo Pitti.

Very nice pensione type hotel. We were there for 4 wonderful days. Our room faced the front and we did not know ahead of time that Via Romana is such a main street, with the attendant noise level, but the location was perfect, especially for the price. Our room was a perfect size. The bathroom is precisely that... a shower with a toilet, bidet, and sink. You have to remove the towels, toilet paper, etc., before taking a shower. This was not a problem, just different. The only down side was our sink had a leak and the toilet had no seat (no surprise there, after all, this is Italy!), until our last day when we discovered, upon returning to the hotel, that the leak was fixed AND the toilet was sporting a new seat! Also, there is no elevator. The breakfast offered is minimal, but good. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Boboli and would stay there again, if we got the chance to return to Florence.

El hotel no es un hotel de dos estrellas. Muy caro en relación al confort ofrecido, desprolijo, con tres pisos y sin ascensor. Todo una verdadera pocilga. Parking is nearby, but the lot is humongous so we had to walk a long way to get back to the hotel after parking. We were disappointed with the room. You could hear everything going on in the other rooms and especially in the hall since there was no carpeting and everything just echoes. Some man decided to take a shower at 1:30 in the morning in the hallway bathroom, which happened to be right next to our room; singing at the top of his lungs....obviously a little too much vino. Kids running up and down the hallway screaming until we told them to knock it off and get back to their room (which their mother should have done). The shower was not to be believed. A nozzle stuck on the wall in the really small cubicle of a bathroom with NO SHOWER CURTAIN....if you shower, everything in there will be soaked. The bath towels were a joke....they need to invest in some TERRYCLOTH. These were flat cotton oversized kitchen towels. The location isn't bad if you don't want to be smack in the center of Florence, where driving a car is impossible anyway. Our other option was the David, which was also on this side of the river....it was a little more expensive, but it got rave reviews on Venere and I think the parking was on the premises. And they probably had shower curtains and terrycloth bathtowels. For what the parking cost us, it would have ended up being the same....live and learn. We'd never stay at Boboli again.

The bathroom was really too small and taking a shower meaned wetting the whole bathroom. And it was really COLD in the room. The heating could not be turned on because of economic reasons, but the employee who was telling this to us was sitting in a warm space. When we asked for an extra blanket, we could have it the day after (which was too late, this was our return day)!!! We will never go back, although prices are fair and the hotel is well situated.

We had the same experience of other guests with the shower that has no door ! Anyway we stayed in Lucca in an Hotel that had the same kind of bathroom..... It's probably a typical tuscany shower system ! At the beginning we thought that price was a bit high for the cathegory but then we noticed it was good in comparison to others Hotels in Florence, less nice and far from the city center. For the rest the Hotel is situated so near to the Palazzo Pitti and the Old Firenze that is really nice to have a walk in any moment, even when you're tired, everything is near you and people are so kind ! The staff were competent and friendly. The location is excellent for visiting the sites of Florence. A fifteen minute walk on the same road as the hotel (Via Romana) is the Ponte Vecchio and there after all the main sites. The parking is in a public off street car park about five minutes walk from the hotel and the road outside the hotel is very narrow making even temporary parking while unloading luggage difficult. When I stayed the weather was very hot (35 C) and air conditioning would have helped make the room more comfortable. The electric fan provided made on a small impact.

This hotel was in a really good location, just on the other side of Ponte Vecchio and a four min. walk to the Uffizi. It was very clean, our room was quiet and with the view shown on the website. It offered a fairly unpalatable continental-type breakfast (mostly pre-packaged with little variety). Warning: the private shower was un-enclosed, which means the shower head sticks out of the wall and the water gets everywhere! The towels were typically thin- as- tablecloths, no frills here. Also I was disappointed that there seemed to be no effort (from the lady who worked the aternoon shift) to fulfill the simplest requests (ie: borrow a converter plug to use my own hair dryer ("It must not have been returned from the last person..") or a house hair dryer (didn't have one), etc. etc. I was 0 for 4! Despite this, I give full credit to the gentleman who worked the night shift; extra pillow, no problem. Gave us excellent directions, recommendations and all with a smile. He made it mostly worthwhile. Overall I would give it an average rating. Thought it was overpriced compared to other places we stayed in, but this was considered a reasonable deal as we were told early April is already considered "high" season (surprisingly). A comfortable stay in a good location of Florence.
