Very nice bed and breakfast. Not the best area (not unsafe just not too pretty) but very walkable to all main areas of the city. Good breakfast and very spacious rooms. Loved the heated towel rack in the bathroom!

This is a wonderful place to stay. It's in the heart of Florence - everything's in walking distance. For the money paid, I don't think you'd find better. The staff were excellent, spoke English very well and were more than accommodating in booking restaurants etc for us. The rooms are beautiful with original paintings from 1732 (?) on the ceilings, the bathrooms are very modern and have clearly been updated recently. Each room has it's own tiny balcony to sit on if you wish & there's a spa on site if you (like we did) need a good massage! Deffinately worth the stay.

The room was a beautiful restoration and update of a courtyarded building. Francesca was a wonderful host and the staff was friendly and very helpful in making dinner and sightseeing reservations. The Palazzo was well situated for foot travel anywhere in the city. If we make it back to Florence, we would definitely stay at Palazzo Galletti again.

We only stayed a night in Palazzo Galletti - Residenza D'Epoca and I have to say that everything was excellent for the price offered. 120 euros for a room that smelled cinnamon, clean and quiet even though it was just a wall away from the reception. There was some construction going on on the level floor but the noise wasn't coming through at the first floor, were the Residence is situated. The breakfast was standard but well prepared. The kitchen with the 500 year-old stove and air extractor was a nice surprise. As for the distance from the sights, it's just a step away from the Duomo and there are 2 parking lots nearby. Grazie a voi Firenze resta ancora la mia città italiana preferita.

Everything that the website advertised about Palazzo Galletti was accurate and true. Our suite was fabulously decorated and meticulously cleaned every day. The owners went out of their way to help make our stay as pleasant as possible. Customer service attitude is as high at Palazzo Galletti as it is in the 5 star hotel chains. The breakfast service was generous and delivered by very helpful staff that catered to our special needs and requests. My wife and I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary in Florence and I selected Palazzo Galletti strategically for its location, close to everything one wants to see in Florence. We were close to many venues that gave us a true Florentine experience: Antonio's neighborhood deli, a coffee shop and a fabulous little restaurant called A CASA DI VIOLA, where we spent several of our evenings feasting on Italian and Romanian dishes and chatting with Viola the owner and with other patrons. All within a 5 minute walk from Palazzo Galletti. The reception area and the rooms are all located on the second story of a Palace. There is no elevator service (as was the case in the period of history that Palazzo Galletti is trying to preserve); so ensure that you are prepared to carry your suitcases upstairs. Take your time and do not let this minor gap get in the way of your vacation. Everything else about Palazzo Galletti will please you.

Overriding comment - this is not a conventional hotel with a bar and 24hr room service. It is a building full of rooms. That said, don't be put off. The rooms are unconventional in that they vary in size. Mine was a small(ish) bedroom and a palatial bathroom. All have some unique features and again mine had a 17th century fresco on the ceiling. The rooms a quitessentially Italian, clean and well furnished and blending old style with bang-up-to-date fittings. Its location in the heart of Florence means you can forego a hotel bar in favour of walking outside and taking your pick or bars and restaurants. The various Piazza's and tourist attractions are close by. The reception is manned roughly 8am - 6pm and the staff are friendly, competent and multilingual. Summary - a great place to stay; good value and a great base to explore Florence (providing the sun shines!!). PS the poor "noise rating" was circumstantial - building work underneath!

Best stay of my whole trip in Italy. Love the place....... surrounding with a small supermaket and many nice restaurants. Wonderful breakfast since fresh fruit was provided. :) A small warming to the future guests, try to pack light; otherwise, the stairs wouldn't be a fun way to start your trip!

The room and breakfast were excellent and the hotel was renovated to a spectacular standard. If i had to find a fault it would be that it was situated on the first floor and there was no lift but that is being really picky.

Very friendly staff. Gorgeous rooms, each with it's own character. Too bad there are only small number available, but this limited number enhances the quaintness of this B & B. Up to date TVs (LCD) and bathrooms (very spacious and beautiful). Adequate breakfast in quaint room. May be difficult for some to bring heavy luggage up to the "first" floor (ie. one floor above street level) via stairs.

We stayed in one of the two suites available and the room was truly amazing. Breakfast was not up to much - self service but I dont think jams, tea bags etc were checked and topped upon a daily basis. As described by another review, it was a building with rooms - but boy the room was stunning and incredibly quiet. Location is excellent.

This was the quite excellent hotel for us. Our double room was quite big. Bathroom(only shower) was big and looked quite new. LCD-TV was small but contained some game. Entrance was a bit difficult to find. But location was quite good. There were several local nice restraunt and supermarket. No internet connection but internet cafe was just next door. Breakfast was simple but good. I recommend this hotel to others absolutely.

This is a spectacular hotel. The rooms are mid-sized, but the high ceilings make them feel spacious. The rooms are beautifully appointed in a modern style. Bath was very spacious and modern. Our room had a balcony with a table for two overlooking na interior courtyard. Breakfast was the best offered during our stay in Italy. No elevator so older folks might have trouble getting to the second-floor office. The only problem we had was with our reservation. Even though we had a confirmation from Venere.com, the hotel had no record of us. The young woman who was at the desk when we arrived was very helpful, and we spoke later that day with the owner. The problem appears to have been with Venere.com, who never communicated our reserevatoin to the Galletti. In nay case, the owner worked hard to find us another hotel in the city, and we were very happy with the result. But we would ahve preferred to stay all four nights at Palazzo Galletti.

I will choose this hotel as the best one we stayed in Italy this trip. The room is furnished so beautifully which we both loved. Bathroom is spacious with a bath tube which is very rare in Italy. The breakfast room is very nice though variety served is limited. The location is good as it's closed to the Duomo. Definitely will recommend to our friends and will stay there again !

Its not a hotel, so visitors kindly be aware its a room in a building, the room which was a suite was spacious and tastefully decorated, it had all the comforts but no warmth. There is a constant rumbling of heating pipes which sounded like an underground train. We only stayed one night and moved promptly to another hotel. Its location is out of the way and difficult to find, dont walk take a taxi. There is no one to help with bags you have to carry them up 3 flights of stairs yourself as the owner is a lady who was very friendly but not physically capable of carry big suitcases. They only have people on the premises at certain times, you are very much on your own. The breakfast is minimal and in a very cold and dank setting. Not the best place to stay if you are expecting the luxuries 3/4 star hotels offer. We were in Florence to celebrate my wifes birthday and when I booked this hotel I felt it would be something special but it got my plans off to a bad start, we asked if we could leave the next day and the owners said it would not be a problem, which we were very happy to hear.

Very conveniently located, just on the fringe of the retail bustle but in easy walking distance of all cultural destinations, and with numerous good restaurants nearby, as well as inexpensive grocery and Internet on the same street (Internet in room if you have a laptop). Very friendly and helpful staff, and a generous, broad selection at breakfast. Some noise between rooms, but very nice bedrooms and quite impressive bathrooms.

Our stay was magnificent, this hotel is in the very center, near de Duomo. The rooms are very neat, very new... we were impressed because the room had a plasma T.V. and a minibar, which is very odd for hotels in Europe especially in Italy. The price was very good and worth it. We had a wonderfull time in Florence and definitely the hotel had a lot to do with it!

Once we found the building, this was a wonderful place. A renovated building from the 1500s. The room was large and well decorated with a marble bathroom. Breakfast was more than adequate. The location is extremely convenent. WOuld rate highly, recommend to friends, and would definitely stay again.

The hotel is well located and well priced for a stay in Florence. The rooms are large and the bathrooms in particular are very good. However, the claim that the rooms are soundproofed is misleading. While you may not hear things from other rooms, the noise fom the public areas and the stairwell is most intrusive.

This place is a gem! Tucked out of the way & no elevator, it is obscure but lovely! Our room was a nice size (wish I had reserved a suite) and the decor & ammenities were elegant & understated. I highly recommend this property. The service was friendly and efficient. A must stay in Florence!

We were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel..the staff went out of their way to be helpful and pleasent. The location is excellent too and an excellent value. The only complaint is that there is no one there to help bring up suitcases to the room in the afternoon when we arrived...the young girl took up one little suitcase but the big ones I had to carry up the steps myself and also had to help some women during the week who could not handle their big suitcases up the two flights of stairs.

A wonderful place with recently updated, VERY spacious rooms. Most of them with verandas opening to an interior courtyard. The owners and employees were EXTREMELY helpful with all of our questions and in giving suggestions. The location is fantastic, 5 minutes to the Duomo. The wine/sandwich shop a couple doors down is great for a casual bite. Also, try Cantina Barbagiannni restaurant across the street for a fantastic dinner. It was one of the best meals we had while traveling through Italy.

This hotel is a gem. Enjoys a wonderful location just minutes from the Duomo. The young couple who run it are extremely helpful. The rooms are beautiful and breakfast is served in the old kitchen. Full of atmosphere. We will be back!

There is difficult to access to the reception because there is no lift. When you arrive tired you need at least somebody to help you with your luggage. The entrance of the building is not very nice and it is the first impression you have. On the other hand the place is nice and comfortable inside. Manuel Alcalá.

This hotel was part of a 5 city tour of Italy. We found the hotel on Venere.com and it seemed like a decent place based on the information provided on the web site. Upon our arrival we were astonished by the meticulous condition and care of the property. Claudia and the entire staff seemed to roll out the red carpet of hospitality and service. I almost was more impressed with the room than the city of Florence. Definitely a must stay place for the business or vacationer. You will love the rooms, staff, and the value for what you recieve. Definitely an awesome value and a must stay place if you want to be in a good location.

Great rooms in the deluxe category. Would go back there any time. Only one small incident which was the first night of checkin where showers was being repaired and could not be used. No alternative facilities available which was very inconvinient in the summer. However, the staff solved it with an upgrade so all in all not to bad. Potentially could see a need for improvement in commercial skills with delivering the bad news about the shower but it could be language related. Would go back any time as the rooms where so quiet and excellent standard. Would be good if the info on location had been better, was 1st floor in a regular building, difficult to find unless you go by taxi.

This little gem is perfectly situated in Firenze. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spacious, very quiet, and very clean. Breakfast is not sumptuous, but quite adequate. The location is great for walking to all of the major attractions in Firenze. It may not meet the needs of those travellers who like the facilities offered by big hotels, but for those who want a lovely respite to return to after days of sightseeing, it is ideal. The price is incredibly low for what they are offering. Highly recommended!!

The best thing about this is the location, the price and the decor. There are different room configurations for the same price and we had the smaller room with a strange bath room arrangement (shower stall is part of the room, toilet and sink inside the 'bath room'). At first we were shown to a really nice spacious room with a beautiful ceiling and was told before we started unpacking that it was not our assigned room. So it was a disappointment to see our assigned room as compared to the first one we saw. As a compensation, they let us have the best room in the hotel for one night and the room "Cerere" was absolutely magnificent. It was like a palace! There are nine rooms total and each is named after a planet. The people running the hotel are very nice.
