Location of Hotel coul not be better. Hotel reception is on the 4th floor and the ride up and down in their ancient lift is always a scarey experience. Hotel bar is right next to guest rooms and can be noisy.

The room was very cramped by typical U.S. hotel standards. However, it was very clean and literally across the street from the Duomo in Florence. You can't get much better than that. The bathroom was nice and the breakfast was quite satisfactory. I was pleased.

We stayed at Hotel Duomo 1 night. We found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable of the town. The breakfast was all you need to get your day started. Everything was clean and the beds were adequate, about as good as any other in Italy. We enjoyed our stay immensely. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Easy to walk to all museums and shopping.

Great place for a short stay in Florence. Very welcoming staff. Astonishing location: a few meters from the Duomo!

We had a perfect stay. The hotel staff were very accomodating and the hotel was in a perfect postion. Although we did find the hotel a little hard to find, the sign is very high so you need to look up. But other than that I was definately recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Duomo Hotel. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The Hotel is ideally situated within walking distance to all major attractions and dining. Recommend visitors query Hotel for the precise location of the nearest garage if driving as the surrounding Duomo Plaza has restricted traffic. I strongly recommend this
hotel !

The prices are very high but no worse than anywhere else in Florence. The only complaint is that the mosquitoes were terrible.Perhaps some nets or spray in each room would help ? The lift was very small.Proximity to the centre was perfect. The bells are a pleasure.

I highly recommend Hotel Duomo, easy to find as it is in Piaza Duomo! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with any enquiries, and our bags. I have been to Florence three times and I particularly enjoyed the location and ambience of the hotel.

I stayed here for four nights together with my wife and our youngest daughter aged 12. The hotel was very impressive, located on the 4th floor across the street from the duomo. Very quiet despite the mid-city location, our three-bedded room was spacious enough, and the bathroom was also spacious and always very clean. The location is excellent, you cannot come closer to the main attractions. The staff was very helpful, no language problems, as most of them spoke english well. The breakfast was ordinary, as expected. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we come back to visit Firenze.

Perfectly located, our room faced the side of the Duomo. 10 minutes walk from the station and everything in Florence is within easy walking distance. Lift to the hotel reception on the fourth floor is small and elderly, but the hotel itself is lovely- rooms are newly and tastefully refurbished, we had an excellent bathroom (although no bath). Staff are charming. We stayed in September when it was cool enough to have the windows closed and the air con switched off- but suspect it could be noisy if you like to sleep with windows open.

Imagine our delight as we pulled back the curtains to the windows in our room and our view is filled with the beautiful colors of the Duomo itself - absolutely breathtaking. We arrived on foot from the train station, and had no trouble finding the hotel, but there was a strange man in the lobby of the hotel, sitting in front of the elevator, so we climbed the four floors up to the hotel lobby. That was the only incident, and I don't think it's a regular occurance, as the hotel staff was quick to take care of the man. Our room was just perfect, and even though I had not requested a cot for my young son, they had one made up for him. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning with many things to choose from. I would highly recommend this the Hotel Duomo!

The thing that sets The Hotel Duomo aside from other hotels in the price range is the location. You would have to move your bed into the Cathedral to be any closer to it! It was almost as if we could reach our hand out of the bedroom window and touch the walls of the Duomo. This did mean that the area was busy day and night, with tourists and touts making quite a bit of noise. We had the windows closed and aircon on due to the heat, but If we had had to open the windows I think the noise would have put us off.
The room was very nicely decorated, very spacious for a european city. The hotel staff were competent, friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was more than sufficient (cereals, breads, cold cuts, cheese, patisserie, coffee, juice etc - as much as you want).
The best thing about the hotel is the location, which is unbeleivably good. You can walk very easily to every attraction in Florence; Duomo&Baptistry&Giotto's Bell tower-outside your door, Uffizi-5 minute stroll, Palazzo Vecchia-5 minutes stroll, San Lorenzo-3 minutes, Palazzo Pitti-10 minute stroll.
We walked from the train station to the hotel, which at 4pm in the heat and with our suitcases was not very comfortable, even though it was only about half a km away. The hotel is very easy to find - look for the dome of the Duomo!

This is the best hotel I've stayed in. Great location - amazing to be so close to the Duomo and have a view of it from the balcony. Piazza Duomo seems to be the centre of things in Florence so staying here makes everything easily accessible. Because you are so close to all the attractions it means you can go out in the morning then return to the hotel during the day to have a rest without wasting too much time. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here. I have already returned once. Great value for money.

Excellent hotel and absolutely perfect location. Hotel is on the fourth floor and there is a lift (elevator) or stairs to use to ascend (on occasion the lift was not available).
Rooms are decorated in a very modern mahogany and suede type deoration. Bathroom was again very modern.
The staff were always attentive and very helpful. The icing on the cake was the balcony and the view from it - the Duomo at eave height and only about 50 feet away.
Hotel Duomo is so conveniently and centrally located that I often came back to it to drop purchases and gifts off, or in one case to shelter from a quick storm.
All in all an excellent hotel and worth the money.

We had 7 days holiday and this hotel really made it a superb experience. Given the location (the cathedral being bang opposite)
, the hotel was very quiet and we had a very clean, well appointed and spacious room. All the main places to visit in Florence were within a 1 km radius, so all available by walking. Staff were very helpful.

This is a beautifully maintained hotel with extremely helpful, friendly and professional staff. Despite the fact that I had made reservations for the wrong dates they accommodated us! Most (if not all) rooms have a balcony which is a bonus at this price and our room overlooked the magnificent Duomo. What can you say about the location! The breakfast was the best we've had in Italy so far. We'll stay there again if we go to Florence without a doubt.

Our stay here was a very pleasant experience. Although the room was rather small, it was spotless and the Duomo appeared right in our window as advertized. It was an excellent location, and the staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful.

Hi, we choose hotel Duomo because of its location: just outside Brunelleschi's Duomo and Giotto's Campanile. In addition it's just few steps away from Ponte Vecchio and Piazzale della Signoria, Lots of good restaurants and shops around! Service's quality as professionalism of its employees are both of high level. Night time there may be just a little bit noisy, but.. that's Italy!

Hotel had recently been updated. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Bed was very comfortable. The location is good and bad. Right across from Duomo, and heart of city. So, being right across from Duomo during spring break means hearing the voices from the street below. And the romantic bells of the Duomo, and nearby churches, but they also ring at night. I only wish the windows had screens on them to keep the mosquitoes out. I would stay here again, but bring ear plugs and keep the windows closed.

I stayed in a single room, which was really small, but adequate for one person. The only problem I had was getting the lights to work. You have to leave your key-ring in a slot to provide electricity to the room, but I couldn't get the bathroom light to switch off without turning off the electricity. Otherwise, a comfortable, clean and friendly stay.

Duomo in Florence was very nice! The rooms were clean, employees were wonderful, area hotel is situated was perfect! Duomo is right in the middle of pizzia Duomo...the big church is right outside you window. Perfect area to stay in, for touring Florence. Hotel is close to training station. We drove in with a van - we paid 30 euro for parking - a parking company parks your vehicle at another location. There is no parking at the hotel. I will return on my next visit to Florence.

I cannot rate the hotel, as when I arrived on the day scheduled, construction work was in progress that prohibited our accomodation. However, management had booked an alternate room at a nearby hotel, "Hotel Cavour" at the same rate. That hotel was very satisfactory and also well-located. I would highly recommend this establishment. Meanwhile, the apology by the Duomo manager seemed genuine. He explained that the contractor performing work at his place had fallen behind. I appreciated his overall handling. My remarks concern the Hotel Cavour.

This hotel is impossible to reach by car! We followed the Italian custom of disregarding pedestrian-only signs, one-way streets, and taxi-only lanes and finally managed to get to a place to park illegally. I stayed with the car, and my husband found the poorly marked hotel on foot. The hotel is one floor of an ancient building, and it is small! The employees were nice and helpful, and the Duomo was right outside our window, too close even to photograph well. We would go again.

The location is absolutely outstanding. You really are at the Duomo, which means center of center of Firenze.
The only thing about this hotel is the breakfast.Don't worry, it is there, there is enough. But not much choice and not superb quality.
Otherwise, this place rules.
