I have been to Fiumicino many times. I have known of Cancelli Rossi for many years. It provides, particularly the single traveler, an adequate accommodation for a night's stay before going to or a late-in-the-day arrival at Leonardo da Vinci Airport. It is not a hotel where I would plan to spend many days.

My only comments would be that the shuttle bus service should commence earlier and run a little later. Also breakfast begins a little too late at 7 a.m. for many people taking flights. Other than that though this hotel is excellent value.

The hotel did not reflect the pictures shown for the hotel and rooms. The location was near the airport but located on the departure end of the runway and very loud. The room had thin walls, not enough electrical outlets and looked cheap. The rooms were clean. In addition, there was no breakfast offered and the restaurant seemed to be under rennovation. The hotel's shuttle to the airport was not operating at the early hour for me so I had to take a cab for 18 euros. In addition there was no hot water to take a shower.

We just stayed overnight to make connections to our flight back to the US. The hotel was fine, no complaints. One of our major concerns was transportation between the hotel and the airport. In reading the reviews we found that there was a charge for the airport transportation. We found this to be partially correct. If one is unfortunate to arrive at a time when the shuttle is not available, the cost of a taxi is ridiculously high.....20 Euros for a 2 kilometer trip (4 minutes). If we had known where we were going we could have easily walked as we had very little luggage. On the other hand if your departure/arrival times are early morning or late afternoon the shuttle is complimentary. This is a service we didn't find in any other of the hotels we looked at. I recommend you contact the hotel and ask the complimentary shuttle hours. In speaking to other guests we found universal complaints that the taxis in and around Rome were in the stratasphere. Our taxi did sport a GPS system, HE could afford it. Did the Sopranos move in to the taxi business in Rome?
Regarding the restaurants, one can take a long walk toward the beach and see a large variety of fresh fish restaurants that I wish we had taken advantage of. The hotel restaurant was ok but not up to the wonderful food we had gotten used to

The hotel was very nice and clean and close to the airport. The shower in our original room did not have a door on it so they very quickly moved us to another room. We had no problems; the breakfast was nice and we caught the shuttle on time. We were impressed with the way everyone treated us.

| The hotel has an outdoor free private parking. The hotel organizes a shuttle service subject to charges to and from the Fiumicino airport from the nearby hotel Mach 2. The service runs from 7 a.m. until 9.45 p.m. to the airport and from 5.15 a.m to 8.55 pm. from the airport, weekdays only. |
