| Our Hotel is located by the Royal Botanic gardens but is also within easy reach of the city centre. There are many local restaurants which are easily accessible from the Hotel, i.e., Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, French and of course, Scottish.
There is a local bus service -buses 23, 27, 8 from Princes Street- on your door step which will take you all around Scotland's famous capital. We are ten minutes from Waverley railway station and the bus station. The airport is a 20 minute drive. Enjoy the tranquil setting of Inverleith amongst the splendour of the Botanic gardens and many parks and walks; yet Princes Street and the hub of city life are only 10 minutes away. There are many visitor attractions in Edinburgh apart from being right next door to the Botanic gardens, we are also close to the Royal Yacht Britannia and the port of Leith. We are also ten minutes from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile which leads to Holyrood Palace, Dynamic Earth, the Royal Scottish Museum, Historic Houses and many more. |

Guest type: Mature couple
stayed in Dec 2007
The room we stayed in on the first night was very small - really only for one person. The manager moved us to a larger room for our second night. Considering that the hotel had few guests at this time of year, it would have been good to have been offered a choice of rooms on arrival. I mentioned too that (contrary to Venere practice) my card account had been debited at the time of booking, rather than at the end of the stay. No explanation for this was offered.
These niggles apart, we enjoyed our brief stay, and were warm and comfortable. The breakfasts were good. The decor was in good order. Prospective stayers should be aware that there is no lift. Access to Edinburgh centre was easy and quick by bus. One of the best features was how quiet it was.
The single photograph on the site of a bedroom shows the one rather grand room with a four-poster. All the others are more conventional, and smaller - be warned!

We were there early June. It was a bit warm in the room without fans. Felt cost was rather high. Rooms very small and a ways from the main tourist attractions. Great bus system to help you get around. We enjoyed our visit & everyone was very friendly but would not stay there again.
