Spacious public rooms on the ground and first floors lead to twenty two en-suite bedrooms all serviced by an elevator. The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard with views of Edinburgh Castle to the front and the Kingdom of Fife to the rear.

Beautiful hotel! The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good breakfast variety. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved the hotel: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff; the wonderful breakfast; the proximity of the town center. The hotel is a lovely, old home, with beautiful woodwork and a treat to stay in.

I always enjoy my stay at the Melvin House. They are most pleasant and accommodating. I feel as though I am at home when I am there. The atmosphere is so tranquil and everyone is so friendly. They are #1 in my book thus I recommend them highly to all of my friends.

A very pleasant stay in a lovely old town house, situated within walking distance of the heart of Edinburgh. Surprisingly quiet
at night considering its proximity to the city centre !
