The holiday region around the Achensee lake has a picturesque position between the high mountains and the largest Tyrolean lake, being an ideal starting point for excursions and trips to the famous crystal-world of Swarovski in Wattens, to Innsbruck, to the lake Tegernsee, to Salzburg or South Tyrol.

There are also a lot of possibilities for practising sports in the immediate vicinity of the hotel: alpine skiing, biking and mountainbiking, tennis, golf, cross-country skiing, horse riding, sailing and surfing.

Achenkirch, Maurach, Pertiau and Steinberg, the locations of the Achensee region are up to 1015 m above sea level, the highest mountain station is at 1.870 m. Maurach is positioned on the southest lakefront, surrounded by the Rofan and Karwendel mountains. There are 4 skiing regions with a total of 55 km of skiing slopes, 2 funiculars, 6 chair lifts and 21 cable lifts. The funicular to the Rofan mountain is only a few steps away from the hotel. The other skiing areas are connected by free ski buses, stopping next to the hotel.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
From Munich across the Tegernseetal valley proceed in direction Tegernsee until the Holzkirchen exit. From there continue following the Tegernsee lake and then the Achenpass (height: 941 m) until you pass the border. Afterwards go along the Achensee lake until arriving in Maurach. You can also arrive on the highway Inntalautobahn (A12) until the Wiesing-Achensee exit. There you have to take the federal road Achenseebundesstraße (B181) until Maurach (10 km).
Coming from Italy, take the Brennerautobahn A13 highway towards Innsbruck and then the Inntalautobahn highway.

By train
The Jenbach railway station, between Innsbruck and Kufstein, is 4 km away from Maurach. From there you can take the bus or a taxi. From the Tegernsee railway station there is the bus 9550 via Kreuth and Achenkirch until Maurach (Departure: 8.45 a.m. and 2.45 p.m., departure back: 10.57 a.m.and 4:57 p.m.).

By airplane
From the Innsbruck airport, 50 km away, take the train to Jenbach and from there the bus or taxi. From the Munich airport, 100 km away, there is also the possibility to reach Jenbach by train.
