Excellent stopover during our trip from Belgium to the Alps for a week of skiing. The owner was very kind, explained in details how to get the fastest to the highway. And did an excellent job following up the fact we forgot our creditcard at the reception desk.

New and extremely clean hotel. Could be difficult to find due to its position (on the outskirt of the town). Need to have an own vehicle to reach Dijon. In any case it is recommended due to low cost and high rate.

Very friendly personel especially to the kids (4 in the age of 2 -6)) good breakfest suggestion: a playing ground for the children near to the dining room

We booked 2 rooms. One was smelling fresh, but the other was smelling at smoke. Next time i would prefer to have the possibility to choose not-smokers rooms.

location, the two singles and a double bed for €65,- and free parking makes this a good option for an overnight stay for a family with two children. Breakfast is reasanably good for € 7,50

Good hotel, very welcoming service, only criticism is that the location is not very easy to find and is situated in a an unattractive suburb of Dijon that looks like the worst kind of American sprawl. For a stopover en route from England to the Alps, perfect though.

It was the first time my wife and I stayed at the hotel. It was a good hotel for the price and ideal for an overnight stop. The staff were friendly and welcoming and they made every effort to communicate with us in English. The only minus was the food in the restaurant there was a poor choice on the menu and the food was mediocre. However, the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We would stay in this hotel again.

I think our bathroom (chamber 115) can use some attention. After showering, water is all over the floor, the door can't be locked.

The hotel was excellent and only exceeded by the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

I had read on previous reviews that this hotel was difficult to find. I didn't think it was too hard, but I had written down the advice from the other comments! A good hotel for en route stopovers. The food in the hotel wasn't bad either. The staff were all very helpful (In English as well)

This is a good option for anyone wishing to stay outside of downtown Dijon, but in the general area. The surroundings (commercial/industrial area) are nothing exciting, but I think that the hotel still represented good value for the money.

The hotel was overall very good the staff was very helpfull, noise isolation between rooms could have been better. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The location of the hotel was a bit hard to find (possibly a map may be helpful) A Tea & coffee making facility in the room would make the rooms more attractive for future use.

O.K. for one night. Room very basic but clean. Breakfast excellent value for money. Unfortunately after a long drive we had to get in the car again after checking in as nothing to do in the hotel or adjacent area.

This hotel had nice friendly staff but the quality of the rooms were very poor. Mouldy showers that didn't work very well. Again the Venere Web gave the impression that this was a better standard than it actually was. But it was cheap and we only stayed over night. More than 1 night would have been very depressing.

Although late arriving there was a friendly welcome. Air conditioning wasn,t working in public area so was rather warm although rooms were comfortable but beds rather hard. Food was disapointing arriving cold asked for a salad which arrived after we had eaten. Could have done with tea and coffee making facilities

The hotel and room were certainly adequate though the whole place seemed old and a bit run-down. The staff was very nice and it was a good value for the region. The region around the hotel is beautiful, but the actural location of the hotel is not - near a highway and big shoppping stores. The room was tight for a family of 4, but adequate.

Our family declared this two-star accommodation better than our previous three-star one in Paris! Our reception was warm, courteous and helpful. The staff opened the pool for our kids despite the 16 degree C water temperature...they thought them crazy! The food in the restaurant was superb...my favorite was the creme brulee! I would definitely return if lodging was needed in the Dijon area. Excellent value!!

This is simply a nice roadside hotel. It is very nice for its price. Dinner was good, too. We walked into the nearest town, and visited a wine cellar - very interesting - and bought some really nice wine.

As others have said, this hotel is very difficult to find. The front of the hotel looks out on an ugly strip of stores etc.; there is a vineyard in the rear. Ask for a room at the back! As a stopover spot, this hotel is fine if you discount the hour of driving around the outskirts of Dijon looking for it.

The hotel is not in central Dijon, so you need a car if staying there. The room was sparsely furnished, but spotlessly clean. A shower curtain and some new pillows would make it more comfortable. The breakfasts were very good, the staff were very helpful and overall it was great value for money.

We used this hotel for an overnight stop on a longer journey. We had 12 people in our party including one in a wheelchair. One of the party was a Vegetarian. The shortness of the stay means I can't give a comprehensive view, but we ate well both evening and morning and we were well rested when we left. Overall this hotel offered a better rate than its competitors and served our purpose very well.

Good average between price and quality, the only thing to change is the address : It isn't in Dijon but in the proximity and not so easy to find out if you've never visited the site. Take and follow the road to Beaune....

Very interesting small hotel+restaurant, in the south outskirts of Dijon. Free outdoor parking, no problem to reach the hotel, as it is located in the RN74, from Dijon to Beaune, and just some hundreds meters from the village centre of Marsannay-la-Côte, the real start in the North of the Route des Grands Crus. If you intend to run through enological tourism in the area, this hotel is very interesting. Warm welcome, quite an interesting restaurant, with local specialties (including wine, of course). If you do not like hotels in the city heart, this is a very good choice in the area.

Negative: I was promised a room in the first floor, but on arrival they told me, that there is only a room on the ground floor, because another person stayed 2 nights and therefore got the first floor room. Luckily I could change the room with my daughter who got a first floor room. Positive: Breakfast price was therefore without charge for me. Location: Marsannay was shown on the map, but not the exact exit, that means from which highway exit you can reach the hotel, as Marsannay has many regions.

We had a nice clean room overlooking a vineyard but unfortunately it also was on a very busy highway. So the noise level forced us to have to close the windows. The desk clerks were exceptionally nice. One even offered the hotel phone because he saw us trying to call on the pay phone and that was before he even knew we were checking in there.

We used the hotel for an overnight stop betweeen UK and French Alps. It is a typical French 2*. The room was fine, the evening menu & food excellent (including for kids) and the staff pleasant. We would stay here again

Our room was great, it looked out onto a great view, and conveniently, across the road from the hotel is a huge Cora supermarket. The room had a couch in it in front of the TV, making TV watching very comfortable. The room was impeccably clean. The staff at the desk let us use their computer for Internet access, which was very kind of them. I would definitely come back to this hotel again if I was in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hugotel Sud, just a pity that we only stayed one night. We were a bit dissapointed that the hotel is located right next to a busy big road, but the scenery, swimming pool area, restaurant, good service & friendly staff make up for it!

Nice place for the money, the front faces the street but the back faces the vineyards. Staff got a little hissy over the phone when we called to say we were going to be late (after midnight), but all was well when we actually got there. We were practically the only people in the hotel (and this was in the middle of August). Overall, recommended!

This is one of the best hotels I stayed in in France, cheap yet comfortable rooms, with large beds and a sofa in the spacious rooms that have air conditioning too. All the staff were top, really welcoming and friendly, and the food in the restaurant was tasty too. Its about 3K from the centre of Dijon, easy if you have a car but its on a main route into the centre and I saw loads of buses. It also has a clean and relaxing pool area. If you're going to Dijon, you can't really beat this place for amazing value for money.

We enjoyed our one-night stay in this hotel very much. The staff were friendly, and we found your illustrations of the hotel very accurate. We have no complaints and would not hesitate to use this hotel again, should we require a stay in the Dijon area again.
