The Hotel Schatzalp is located in a unique, south-facing position, 300 metres above Davos and only 4 minutes on foot from the railway station. Built in the popular Art Nouveau style, the hotel has been described by Thomas Mann in his novel The Magic Mountain.
The hotel offers guests elegant rooms with large, south-facing balconies and a total of 200 beds. The charming Belle Époque ambience of this house, so rich in tradition, will surely contribute to make your stay an unforgettable one.
On-site guests will find a number of amenities, such as a two restaurants, a bar, indoor swimming pool, sauna, banqueting room as well as meeting and business facilities.

Set amidst an exceptionally beautiful range of mountains, Davos is, at 1560 metres above sea level, the highest town in Europe and offers some truly diverse skiing possibilities on 6 different mountains. Non-skiers will find that a plethora of mountain restaurants are accessible via the lift system.
In town, world class ice hockey, cross country skiing, ice skating, swimming, art galleries, museums, spas and some great shopping all vie for attention. The nightlife is centered on the square at the end of town and features numerous bars and a wide variety of restaurants.

The hotel occupies a spectacular setting above Davis and is reached by regular a fenicular service. If you miss the downward one, you can always take a sled. The service was excellent and friendly staff were always on hand to provide information or help. The hotel has some amazing character features and, although its fair to say that its a bit tired in places, the overall effect is still stunning. Very clean, good bathrooms, and fantastic location.

Schatzalp pleased us very much, food and service was very nice. Venere.com offered the choice of non-smoking rooms but the hotel didn't. With the exception of the dining room the whole place was smelling of smoke. The corridors, the rooms and even the beds were smelling of smoke. We were brought back down to earth in that marverllous and romantic place that used to be a famous tuberculosis sanatorium.

Schatzalp hotel needs a good refreshing. Rooms are now too old and the "hospital" style is not really a good news for customers. Even if bar, mountains and "funiculaire" are interesting, the hotel corridor looks like "Shining" film. Davos town do not help with its terrific long avenue. If you want to be far of the world and in total quietness, this hotel is for you. But if you can stay in St Moritz it's much better.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL
By car
The Schatzalp is supposed to remain free of cars. Let us, therefore, please know if you plan to arrive by train or by car, so that we can either pick you up from the station or reserve a parking spot for you.
By train
You will find the railway station of the Schatzalp-Bahn train in Davos to your right, between the Crédit Suisse and the Hotel Europe. It only takes 4 minutes from Davos to the hotel. The train goes from 7.30 a.m. until 2 a.m. in winter and from 7.30 a.m. until 11 p.m. in summer.
