I was there 10 nights and thought the hotel was wonderful. We were close to wherever we needed to go. The front desk people were gracious, helpful and willing to do whatever it took to make our visit perfect. It was a wonderful time!!

We stayed only for a night and generally we had a pleasant stay.Staff very helpful and competent.Hotel clean and very close to the lake and it was very easy to find by car.Breakfast was geat too. Only negative point was the noise from the busy road that the hotel was on despite the double glasse windows.Maybe a little bit overpriced for what it had to offer.Overall a pleasant stay.

We had an enjoyable three day stay in Hotel Engadina. The room was modest but clean and comfortable and the staff were very courteous. The only 'negative' was that our room fronted onto a busy street and was therefore a little noisy. That said, after each day of exploration we had little problem getting to sleep!

This is a friendly hotel, very close to Lake Como, the centre of town and the railway station. The rooms are clean, well decorated and air conditioned. There is a busy road at the front of the hotel, but with the windows closed the noise is considerably reduced. The only potential problem could be that the hotel has very little dedicated parking. It made a great base for visiting Monza, Milan, Lake Como and Switzerland.

We only stayed one night, but this was a great hotel. This probably isn't the most central hotel, but it is only a 10 minute walk from the main train station and a 10 minute walk to the central part of Como. The receptionist (young lady) was extremely helpful in directing us to the places we wanted to see. She was fluent in english as well. We had read about it being kind of noisy, but we did not experience this problem at all. We had an interior room though. Would definitely recommend to others as well as stay here again.

A good, basic, three star hotel. Do print out a google map in order to find it though as the hotel's version isn't the most detailed. Breakfast is good (coffee, juice, yoghurts, croissants, rolls with condiments) and the location is five minutes walk from the lakeside and centre of Como. It is overpriced, but I think this is symptomatic of Como, rather than this particular hotel.

Good option for one night or lower budget stay. About a 20 minute walk from hotel to lake and downtown (i.e. Piazza Cavour). Clean rooms, clean bathrooms. Excellent latte for breakfast. No internet access.
Insider tip: The hotel is close to the train station, but do not try to walk (despite the recommendation of the hotel staff) if you have heavy luggage, as the path from the hotel to the train station is only about 15 minutes but travels across several busy streets, narrow cobble stone sidewalks and includes several flights of steep stairs.

This was a good hotel for the price. The rooms were small, but not a-typical by European standards, and the bathrooms were nice. It's only a couple of blocks from the water and a about a 10 minute walk to the "heart" of Como. The only issue we had was finding the hotel since it's hard to see from the street.

The location of the hotel is excellent! its only a 5 minute walk and your in the heart of Como, and as a single female traveller I found the area to be very safe. My only complaint would be that the rooms are tiny, it was no problem for me because I didn't spend much time in the room but it was a bit of a shock to walk into such a small room! it was very clean though and you get a small cute balcony. Also whilst the breakfast was good, there are only limited tables so if the hotel is full you may have to wait for a table in the morning for breakfast (but annoying if your trying to catch the first ferry to Bellagio!). Overall though, for the price and location it was a very comfortable stay. I would stay there again for sure.

This is a good value hotel a very short walk from the Lake front. Our room was well decorated and very clean with fridge, aircon and balcony. The bathroom was superb. Only disappointment was breakfast which was adequate but nothing special with truly appalling coffee - not what I expect in Italy.

We stayed in Como for 2 nights. Engadina was a great base for the price. Only complaint was the traffic noise at night, although we had friends staying in another room and they couldn't hear the noise. We were closer to the main road.

The location was very good for a stay in Como, not in the main hustle, but a 10 minute walk along the water. It was great for me. The only concern I had was for a non-smoking room it did smell quite heavily of smoke. I would use the hotel again.

Our room had a fairly unattractive view (although not horrific). We were expecting a modern, efficient, fairly economical, clean hotel with air conditioning (for one night between destinations during our trip through Italy) and that's exactly what we got. The personnel was all very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were spotless.

Friendly, helpful staff and a good, well run hotel in a convenient location. Not the most picturesque area of Como, but easy to find, with car parking directly in front of premises. I used it merely for a 1 night stopover on the way to Umbria and it suited me perfectly. Very close to main autoroute.

This place was great EXCEPT for the street noise. It is on a busy road and all you hear are cars going by all the time. I was happy with the room - the bathroom was all new with nice new working plumbing. The room was big enough and clean and met our needs. I was surprised it was nicer than I expected - though the road noise was a bummer.

Beds were very hard. Location was on a busy rd but outside noise not too bad. Room was smelly from too much smoking and little on the warm side. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Location is close enough to main stuff (8-10 mins walk to station and city centre). Walls were very thin. Breakfast was a little stingy with the croissants.

We would definitely stay here again. The room was lovely and clean. Very nice breakfast room with good service. (Great cappucinos!) All of the staff were helpful with any questions we had. On our last day they served us breakfast before the opening time of 7am so we could catch an early train. And the location was great - short walk to historical town centre and ferry terminal.

The Hotel was comfortable and welcoming, the rooms and facilities were adequate for our two night stay, and the street noise mentioned in some reviews wasn't a problem. We would use this friendly family Hotel again, and recommend it to others.

The location of the hotel is OK, although if you arrive at the train station its about a 15 minute walk. Our room had a lot of traffic noise as a main road runs in front of the hotel. They have block out shutters on the windows which helped, but there was still quite a lot of traffic noise. The rooms are good, very clean, large enough and the bathrooms are good.

I was very plased with this accommodation. It was central to what Como had to offer and to both railway stations.
The staff was especially helpful and friendly. Although I was confident in communication in Italian, when I had to ring the airline, which was a little more difficult, the phone call was made for me, willingly and cheerfully.
The room was very comfortable, the bathroom well equipped and newly fitted (loved the bath!!)The breakfast was typical continental style - but fine.
I would return to this hotel.

I was at this hotel for two nights and had a double bed all though I was alone. The traffic noise is ridiculous. I had asked for a room away from the street but when your alone hotels tend to put you in the worst location. I would highly suggest getting better glass on the rooms facing the street.
Breakfast was alright (croissant, buns, orange juice and coffee) I ordered a cafe latte and was presented with a jug of coffee and a jug of milk. I paid 70 euro a night but the price list in the hotel said 60 euro a night.
The best part of my stay was the snack bar next door. The woman running it is delightful and the "snack food" tastes pretty good.
I would suggest looking elsewhere first and using this hotel as a last resort

Never again!

The hotel seems to be near the Railway Station, but in fact you can either walk, which is not so funny with a suitcase, or take a taxi, unfortunately there is not bus service at all. The hotel is not central, it is on the boundary of the city with quite a lot of traffic. Inside and when windows are closed it has been very well renovated, upgraded actually from a 2 to 3 star hotel.

Our stay at Engadina will be a memorable one. Very clean rooms, staff was cordial, loved our little balcony in one of the two rooms. AC worked well, both rooms were quite, the location of the hotel walking distance to the lake, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was ample and a very tasty capuccino. I highly recommend it if you're to spend your time ourdoors. Free parking was very helpfull, make shure you ask for the Parking Card at the desk. It is not for a resort type of stay. Our two teenaged kids were happy with this hotel's arrangements. I would return to Engadina.

Great location--short walk to both the center of Como and the train station. The facility was new, modern and clean- a marble bath, shower curtain(!) and a spotless tub! Best of all the staff tried to help in every way; the morning manager even used his own cell phone to help! A definite good choice.

the breakfast was very poor.
There was only jam and cheese spread.
For 130,00 € I expected a little bit more.
Real cheese, ham, bacon and an egg would be welcome.
Last year Iwas in an hotel in Germany for 60,00 €
I had all of this mentioned above.
I don't think I'll stay for a second time.

The Engadina is a comfortable walk to Como main centre. On a noisy, busy road, a room away from the street is essential for sleep.
The lake and most facilities are nearby, including a good supermarket as eating in Como is expensive.
