On check in extra money was requested for ocean view even thou was granted in original reservation. Dinner was overseen by a dictator, local soccor players and Italians were allowed to wear shorts & go bare foot, while tourists had to wear long pants.Soccor players lounged around wih feet on furniture and loudnness was encouraged by staff.The city itself should clean up its act and WORK TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SPEND money in town. Intrastructure needs additional help with planning for the future. In my opinion this locations usefulness for the cruise ships is tedious at best in its present condition..I would try to avoid all contact in any future plans.

Way, Way overpriced. Rooms nice but very small. For the price, Internet should be free, which it is not, there should be a free shuttle to the port, which there isn't. Actually they offer a shuttle for double the cost of a taxi. I have stayed at this hotel several times but will not again. This is only for those with too much money and no standards. A really poor value. The employees are very nice and the location is convenient.

Nice hotel and competent personnel but two teams of volleyball players were staying at the hotel and made terrible noise all nights long. You don´t expect that type of disturbance in a four star hotel and this destroyed our holiday relaxation. We returned home even more tired than before the holidays.

It was a fantastic hotel when it first opened. Now the price is too high but the hotel is too good to be cheap, I guess. The perfect overnight for catching a Civitavecchia cruise. Comfortable and near the cruise Port gate. The town has little to offer but you're only there for a cruise anyway. It's also about 1/4 mile (walkable) from the train station. Every cruise from Civitavecchia, I start with a night here.

Was surprised to find our room had a sitting room and bath downstairs and bedroom upstairs, but it was quiet and clean. Breakfast was good and ample.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By car
From the A12 Genova – Rome highway take exit Civitavecchia sud. Follow the signs for Civitavecchia centro / Sardegna on the S.S. 1 Aurelia for about three kilometres until you reach Viale della Vittoria. From here, continue straight along the waterfront until you reach Viale Garibaldi where Hotel San Giorgio is located at number 34 overlooking the sea.

By train
From Rome Termini train station take the regional FR5 trains or the Intercity train to Grosseto and get off at Civitavecchia train station. Hotel San Giorgio is 300 meters from the station: take Viale della Repubblica in front of the station, turn left onto Via Crispi and then right on Viale Garibaldi. Hotel San Giorgio is 200 meters down the street.

By airplane
From Fiumicino airport:
By train: take the Leonardo Express train or one of the shuttle buses to Rome Termini train station. From there follow the above mentioned indications.
By car: follow the signs for the A12 highway heading for Civitavecchia/Genova. Take the highway and exit at Civitavecchia sud. From there follow the above mentioned indications.
From Ciampino airport:
Take the train or one of the shuttle buses for Rome Termini train station.
