Halepa is a beautiful, quiet and historic suburb of Chania. During the Cretan Democracy, this area was home to many wealthy merchants and politicians, so it became the centre of the diplomatic activities in Crete.

The Greek Embassy, the old French Academy, the palace of Prince George with its picturesque Russian-style Saint Magdaline church, the house of Elephterios Venizelos (one of the most successful statesmen in modern Greek history), are only some of the historic buildings located in the area.

Situated 50 metres from the sea and 500 metres from the beach, both easily accessible on foot, the hotel is just a 15-minute walk from the city centre and can also be reached by public transportation. The hotel has a modern aisle, with all comfort, but very far in terms of charm from the nice pictures of the old rooms on the web. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area, but if the other clients are noisy, you cannot miss them. The service is excellent and the hotel a good place to stay in Hania not too far from the city (without the city's chaos) and with a car park.

Room not as shown in photos, Pictures deceptive. booked a double room, and had 2 single beds. When asked to change, we were told that the doubles were booked out to couples that had not arrived yet. Hotel good 20 minute walk to town centre, nearest beach only for the brave.

This was the third time I had stayed at the Halepa. I find the hotel charming and staff more than efficient. The rooms are of good quality and although there are a number of steps to, & within, the hotel which may deter the more mature traveller with difficulties in this regard I feel sure the staff will be able to help with the minimum of fuss.

Beautiful Hotel. Quiet, friendly, helpful. Rooms plain but spacious and clean and quiet. Hotel is a bit of a walk from Chania town center -- a good twenty minutes. Use coastal route.

The Chania K. Daskalogiannis international airport lies about 15 km away from the hotel and hosts daily flights serving various locations. A frequent bus service connects the airport to Chania's town centre and to the old port area. The hotel is located on E. Venizelou street, at number 164: this street begins at the Central Market downtown, approximately 1.5 km away.

By boat
There are daily ferry and high-speed ferry services connecting the Athens' port of Piraeus to Chania's main harbour, located about 7 km from the hotel. A frequent bus service connects the harbour to the town's centre and to the property. Taxis can be easily found at the end of the wharf.
