This was an excellent hotel for the price - there was even air conditioning if wanted in May which we didn't get at a ****hotel at more than twice the Astro price later in our trip. The situation was good being 5 minutes walk from both the station and the beach and 10 minutes from the old town where we ate most evenings. The only complaint was the awful Nescafe at breakfast which has been mentioned in other reviews. There is a new Astro Hotel being built nearby on the seafront which will be much quieter and it is to be hoped that they will then provide proper Italian coffee.

My impression is that there're only a few hotels operating at this time of the year and so it's hard to make comparison. The room offered us was good, with a balcony. Some other may not be ( we tried to look for alternative on arrival and found one quite smelly ). The hotel is close to the railway station but situates at one end of the town.Overall Astro is ok but I'd like to try others in Cefalu next time.

Caters to all types of people incl. tours. Well located for the old town within walking distance, easy access to road out of town. Alos walking distance tto the beach 15mins

good personnel, small rooms (as usual in sea localities), very very near to the sea (200 m). the hotel suggested us a good beach (which was not included in the price, but which made us a discount). it was not so near to the city centre (10 mins walk). the breakfast was so and so, and served in some kind of a basement.

The hotel is not beautiful, but the staff, very kind and helpful is a real plus! Good services, after all, except the Nescafé for breakfast.

Rooms were rather dark. The coffee for breakfast was horrible. How can you serve Nescafe in a country like Italy.

Hotel foyer being redeveloped, therefore rather cold and noisey Hotel not able to accept credit card to pay for bill - this is not satisfactory as could leave clients unable to pay without going to local bank.

great place to stay, good location close to beach and town center. no lift, so it was a lot of steps to the room. i would return again

We had a clean, basic, but very noisy room on the first floor overlooking the junction of two one-way streets. This might not be a problem if you are not a light sleeper. It would probably be OK if you were higher up. The price was high in comparison to another hotel we stayed in in but we are told that prices are high in the summer, so maybe that's the way it is. We paid less than the price on the bedroom door, but I'm not sure that means anything. It was close enough to the town and beach to walk in about 10 minutes, with lots of restaurants available.

I would definitely book at the Astro again. We could walk to everything---railway station, beach, center of Old Town.

The room that were offered to us stank so tremedously (problems with the toiletts???) that we threated to sign out imediately. Only than they gave us a room that was ok - it was an "upper" room for 220 Euro. In fact it was a totaly normal room that would have been paid very well by regular 120 euro, what we paid. There is no relationship between what they give and what they want. But Cefalú is nice, after all...

The room overlooked a highly traficked street and there was a lot of noise from the trafic.
