The hotel was difficult to find from the map, and we toured the backstreets of Naples for some time! Once found, we were welcomed and found the room fine for our needs. Unfortunately the whole of Italy suffered a powercut that night, which meant the emergency lighting came on at 3.30pm and stayed on for the rest of the night. There was a phone ringing in the corridor also. No breakfast when we got up, we don't know if this was because of the power down or because we didn't get up until 9.30am. Overall it was very reasonably priced and did the job.

The Daytona proves that not all three-star hotels are alike. The hotel's strengths are its cheerful, helpful staff, and its close proximity to the airport (about 3 miles away form the terminal). Its weaknesses are location in a gritty industrial area with no other amenities within walking distance, a generally worn air that does not show in photos, and very limited restaurant facilities. Finally, the walls aren't too thick, as proven by the enthusiastic couple in the next room, who were clearly enjoying each other the afternoon we were there.

Being next to an airport does make for a bit of noise, but we expected that. The rooms were large, but the carpets needed a good cleaning and the air was a bit musty. The people working there were very good to us, so overall, we thought the hotel was a good polace to stay. The directions on the map could be more specific, expecially considering that we had not been there before and were driving. Thanks
