Very helpful staff both at reception and in dining room. highly recommended, We came in order to visit the Romanesque frescoes in the church of St Angelo in Formis and the staff sorted out train times on the computer for us.

The restaurant is very poor indeed. The menu is laid out in a very strange and confusing way, without any indication of antipasti, primi piatti or secundi piatti. It is completely dominated by pasta dishes (the one I had was good), some of which appear to be with identical sauces, and it offers very few fish and meat dishes. The fish dish my wife had was virtually inedible (very salty and unpleasantly bitter stock used for the sauce) and my meat dish was dreadful - a reasonable piece of meat badly cooked and totally submerged in greasy onions (not mentioned on the menu). A horrible experience. There were too many waiters for the number of diners but even so, they hung around doing as little as possible so the service was very slow. The breakfast was nowhere near the standard commonly found in 4 star hotels. (Recently I stayed in the Jolly in Lecco - an excellent hotel with a very good restaurant indeed.)

The hotel was average- clean and adequate enough for a brief stay in Caserta. The hotel was advertised as having the parking included with the price of the room as free, but we were told at the front desk this was not correct-despite having te ad printed out. That was an unpleasant minor surprise, but the proximity to the palace is great. That would be the only major appeal to stay here.
