Hotel Arcantis Bristol Carcassonne - Venere.com lobby The Hotel Arcantis Bristol is located near the Canal du Midi, in the heart of Carcassonne. Entirely renovated, this 19th century building used to be a horse lodge, now converted into a modern functional hotel.

The bedrooms are spacious and luminous, and will welcome you an intimate atmosphere. The reception is open 24H/24, and the staff is always at your disposal and will answer to all of your questions.

The hotel includes two equipped meeting rooms for your seminars and conferences, with a capacity of 30 and 100 people, as well as a bar and a restaurant, where guests can relax while having a drink. The bar is open only during lunch-time, while the restaurant is open in the evening and closes at noon.

The restaurant was amazing! The best meal we had throughout all of Europe. The bus stop to go up to the Castle is right around the corner as is the tourist office, so the location is perfect.

The accommodation was perfectly adequate for the star rating but my General Review Rating is low to reflect the TERRIBLE smell in the toilet, which itself was too remote from the bathroom. I cannot stress to strongly the awfulness of the smell. The Quietness of the room is low because of the noise of skateboarders outside late into the night. I would only return to this hotel if I could be personally assured that the toilet smell problem had been cured.

Bit expensive for what it is, though this is probably due to location (close to station). Very noisy outside early in the morning... that side of the hotel needs to be double-glazed. Carcasonne nice to visit though, but unfortunately the medieval city is getting quite touristy (the merry-go-round outside was foul and totally out of place!).

From A61 highway, take exit 24. Follow national road N113 direction centre ville, then take boulevard Jean Jaurès and follow the SNCF train station. Turn right before the Canal du Midi bridge; the hotel is in front of the train station.
