| Calais overlooks the Strait of Dover, the narrowest part of the Channel (only 21 miles/34 km), and is the closest French city to England. The White Cliffs of Dover can easily be seen on clear days. The old part of the city, Calais-Nord, is situated on an artificial island surrounded by canals and harbors. Its city center is dominated by its distinctive town hall, built in the Flemish Renaissance style. Directly in front of the town hall is the famous cast of the Burghers of Calais statues, by Auguste Rodin. |

Myself, my husband and our teenage daughter stayed in a family room overnight whilst on a Christmas shopping trip and were very impressed with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room the position and facilities of the hotel and the price which seemed very good value for money.

The arrangement of the family room was extremely convenient and offered more than advertised in that there was also a cooking and eating area -- a mini flat no less!!
Only thing to pick holes in was that the sheets were a bit bobbly.
Would go again without a doubt.
