The breakfast was appauling, watered down "multi-vitamin" juice. The receiptist was extremely rude, bedroom was small. The bathroom shower tap was really stiff, i couldnt pull it myself. But the room was clean, with nice sheets and good just to stay a night or two.

The hotel was clean but old and worn around the edges the safe in the room was broke we had to use one in reception. The restaurant was not open in the evening and there was nowhere that I would go to eat near to the hotel, but the hotel shuttle bus would take you to the city centre at night last bus back is 11-05pm

The shuttel service was great, the driver was very helpful and kind, the room was extremly hot( had to sleep with open door&window), the location was so noisy (music till 3am), breakfast was rich, the staff were helpful except one girl in the reception.

We were surprised by the spaciousness of the room : very little... But it was clean and this price in the center of Bruxelles is very cheap (we paid 75€ for a double room with breakfast... After all, a 7/10 seems OK ;-) And the service is very correct ;-)

Good value for the money. Conveniently located, walking distance to the Grand Place and Gare du Midi (about 1 mile). Contrary to other reviews, the neighborhood is working class and was not "rough" The shuttle service was great and the service was good, but not too much English was spoken by some of the staff. The breakfast was better than most. Overall, we had a good stay at the hotel.

Extremely good value for money, especially with the free shuttle bus to centre and station. Excellent breakfast and pleasant public areas. We booked a second night for our return journey while there which was cancelled by mistake but they found us a room anyway in spite of being fully booked.

It was my first time in Brussels and I had heard many good things about the city. Finding the Hotel Van Belle was difficult and the area in which the hotel is situated was absolutaley appauling. For the price of the room it was disgraceful. I could have had a 4 star hotel in th city centre for 15 euros more and was very dissapointed with this. Basically staying at this hotel completely ruined my experience of Brussels and I was happy to leave.

As I read before booking this hotel, the surrounding area is not the best. Lots of noise on the streets during our weekend stay. The hotel is located just a few steps from the tram station. Great value for money. Would stay there again.

I had damp sheets - this was not the light side of the staying.
However the breakfast in the morning made things better...
It is quite ok as a low budget hotel. You get your own room(and hopefully dry sheets), bath, phone and TV for 26 euros - it is quite good, isn't it?

This is the first time I stayed at Van Belle. The hotel is quite far away from Gare du Midi and nearest metro station. But Van Belle provide a good services, clean & comfortable room. I recommend this Hotel for budget travellers.

The hotel is near the centre, however it seems to be not very secure at night because of the number of taverns in the area. The good news are that the hotel providesfree shuttle service downtown and to Midi station.

My number one reason for choosing this hotel was it's proximity to the train station and the fact that they offered free shuttle service to the station. As I had a late arrival, I called in advance to make sure that shuttle still was running. I was promised it did. However, on arrival to the train station, when I called for the shuttle, I was told that it was too late.
The room was one of the smallest I ever saw. In addition, the air was so dry that I woke up with red eyes and a sore throat.
Finally, the breakfast... If you love fat and sugar but hate fruit and vegetables, this is the hotel for you. The so called warm dishes were all luke warm. One tiny little napkin was provided under the cup. When asking for some more, the staff pointed out that I already had one under my cup, and were very unwilling to provide me with more!!!

This hotel was a nice surprise in my travels through Europe. I was lost when I got off the euro train thinking I would have suffer throught the local train or bus system to find the hotel. However they sent a van to pick me up within 10 minutes. I asked how I get to town to have some fun, thinking again I would have to rely on the bus/train system, they said we will suttle you to town starting at 6pm, then pick up up every hours until 11. Wow! Then breakfast was great, lots of choices and food. However the the room was just ok, had a new style safe in the room, great feature. The people were so nice and they did everthing in there power to make me comfortable and spoke good english too.

In general this hotel is quite good. First of all, it is just 10 minutes walk to the city center and in the evenings the hotel provides a shuttle bus to go over there. They can give you a lift to go to the station in order to take Eurostar train, which is very good.
The rooms are quite big and they have the basic facilities such as TV, hairdrier, central heating, etc...
The only thing we were not very happy is the fact that the area, in the evening, gets sometimes noisy and the streets surrounding were sometimes dirty.

Servizio colazione buono e personale cortese.

Good service overall. Spacious rooms and lobby. Good breakfast service. Useful shuttle service to Brussels Midi station. Maybe you could also have shuttle services to Brussels Central and Nord stations and to the Airport at an extra cost.

I guess the noise is to be expected since it is also a hostel. I also think I asked for a non-smoking room and the room had an odour of smoke, so I don't think I got one. It was small for the price but also very nice, it had a tub and internet access in the lobby (which wasn't working, but is still a nice perk).

The hotel is located in a rather depressed neighbourhood. (But it’s not far from city center.)
The hotel was not as good as we expected, but it’s not that bad.
Some of the staff were ok, but one of the receptionists (a tall and dark guy) was particularly bad which made our stay rather unpleasant.

Room was freezing with heating out of order - on reporting this I was offered an extra blanket. Moved to another room the next night. Hotel clearly know about this problem but choose to use the room instead of repairing the problem.

The hotel Van Belle is located in the anderlecht quartier in Bruxelles, and it's just a 15 minutes walk from the Grand Place, the beautiful centre of the city. It owns a private parking in the rear of the hotel, which costs 7,50euros a day, but worth it if you reach bruxelles by car, because the neighborhood doesn't look so "safe", even if I finally think that instead it is. However, about 500 metres and it begins "the centre", with a lot of facilities, restaurants and shops, and about a kilometre in the opposite direction and you can find a metro station. The room of the hotel was clean but not big (we were in a triple room), and so "new", but for the money we paid it I think it was good. In 69,00 euros per night/room, it was even included the breakfast!!
Finally: not a beautiful zone of bruxelles, note an excellent hotel, but a very right price for a room with bathroom in a european capital.

The location is not desirable at night, as I did not feel very safe walking nearby the hotel. The front desk staff was often rude when asked for information regarding places to visit. They also refuse to take telephone messages for their guests (even though I was expecting an important call from home)

A most horrible experience : small room, no air conditioning, a window opening to a 3 sq meter concrete area, a noisy door, very uncomfortable synthetic bed clothing, noisy toilet, extremely cheap and unpractical furniture. Not to mention the extremely basic and not appetizing breakfast.
The worst part I left for last : if you're unlucky as I was, a group of tourists will remain in the bar downstairs and holler songs until two o'clock in the morning, unchallenged by the reception desk, who says they can't do anything about it.
One mystery remains : how did they manage to get three stars ???????????
