In 1991, the Stanhope was inaugurated first 5 star hotel in Belgium. It is the assembly of 3 turn-of-century townhouses, entirely decorated in typical English Country Style.
A peaceful haven in a turn-of-the century Brussels residence, decorated in English country style.

The Stanhope is located between the Royal Palace and the European Parliament, in walking distance to the historical Grand Palace, the Grand and Petit Sablon with the antique shops and the fashionable Avenue Louise.

Each of the 50 guestrooms and suites are unique. All rooms are individually furnished with classical and antique style furniture, floral fabrics, master paintings and Chinese blue and white vases.
Certain Rooms have their own business centre equipped with PC, cd-rom, fax, scanner, printer. Internet access in all rooms and fax machine on request.
All rooms have marble bathrooms with golden taps and finest towels. Guest dispose about 3 telephones, Internet access, trousers press, minibar, cable and satellite TV, radio, and individual air-conditioning.

We have previously stayed at this hotel, booked privately and before extension (and it was a suite). Our room this time was obviously a lot cheaper. It was still in the old wing. The room was very spacious and good for us but a little dated. Extension to property great. Location of hotel a bit out of way if forget something!!! Overall good though.

HI, all, i stayed the weekend night for the special offer price and believe me it was wonderful, for the 85 eur you get 5 star hotel with everything you can imagine should be in a 5 star hotel, i would not hesitate to pay the real price if the special occasion occured - like a celebration, brithday, wedding etc. The thing they are missing is a swimming pool with sauna, but then again you have a sunbed and that is a plus.As the hotel is merger of two or several buildings - it is impossible to get to the other block going out of sauna in the back stairs, so you would have to go in your towels through reception. Otherwise - excellent.

Overall i found the hotel to be excellant value for money, the only thing i found that was lacking was the service in the bar area on two separte occasions i had diificulty ordering drinks(long waits in an empty bar)and later trying to pay for the drinks(45min wait).
