Quand on arrive dans cet hôtel, on est obligé de faire la queue au guichet et les employés, sympathiques pourtant, ressemblent à des guichetiers de préfecture. L'accueil n'est pas très agréable car ils ne sont pas assez nombreux.

We had a very quiet, clean and spacious room. The hotel is sumptuous, even though you can't really tell from the outside.
We took our breakfast there and it was worth it. If you're looking for a place to have a drink, try their café rather than their bar, it is much more authentic.
Staff was very helpful and welcoming.

This was an excellent stay for the last night on our trip. The location was great with easy walking distance to Grand Place. The service was definitely five star with an extremely knowledgeable concierge service. A wide variety of places to eat nearby.

Excellent location, within easy walking of shopping and main town center. Very kind and helpful staff. A bit expensive for us (we normally go economy!) but the extra money was well worth it in convenience, customer service, and the general beauty of the hotel. Highly recommended!

We stayed in the hotel following a celebration meal in Brussels. It met all our expectations of a noble, grand hotel with wonderful spacious public areas and a comfortable, large, well-maintained bedroom. We did not use many of the services so cannot comment on them. The staff we did encounter were courteous and correct. The Sunday-night price deal (€99) was extremely good value.

The building is very beautiful, and public areas fantastic. But my room was in need of renovation. The bed was good, though, and the bathroom nice. Also nice that water, coke and beer from the minibar was included in the price.

We were in Brussels to celebrate New Year. The Ho9tel was beyond our expectations, though a bit expensive to eat in, but there were numerous restaurants in the area of varying prices. We had a lovely time Xmas markets nearby, short walk to Shops and Grande Plas where they hold New year Celebrations. Lots of Museums and nice streets to wander about in. . Most people spoke English or French so not a problem being understood. We were a party of 4 ( mid 50,s ) who partied with the best the best of them out in the Grand Plas and surrounding area. ... go and enjoy

we reserved 2 rooms for 4 nights non-smoking. At check-in, 19:00, first room offered was not cleaned and toilet not flushed. Smelled of feces. 2nd room offered smelled of smoke. 3rd room was acceptable but mirror in foyer was cracked, lights were burned out and towel heater not working.
MY companions' room was withiut toilet tissue and was infested with bed bugs.

The room allocated was much smaller than what I have experienced at hotels of similar rating. My overall impression was tarnished on the final mornimg when the cooked breakfast was cold. The food was taken away by the waiter to be reheated but you can imagine that one's appetite is not enhanced when presented with cold scrambled egg first thing in the morning.I reported this to the receptionist on departure but my wife and I were still charged a steep 25 euros each for a completely unsatisfactory meal. As you are aware I have regularly used Venere hotels and would recommend that this hotel be removed from your list. It certainly could not compare with it's namesake in Venice.

I asked for a non smoking room but was placed in a smoking room. the tobacco smell was unbearable. I awoke with red puffy eyes and could not sleep all night. The hotel is located right on a major shopping district so the noise never stopped. People were screaming and playing radios throughout the entire night. While the staff was very nice and curtious they did not resolve any problems. they just politly said no to everything...

We has reserved luxury room in this hotel 2 months before our trip. But when we has arrived, our room was not ready and we have to wait more than 3 hours.
I think, that for 5 stars luxury hotel it is unacceptable in any case.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were tasteful and the bathrooms were very nice. We had an inside room and it was so quiet, even with very loud music outside. A beautiful hotel for the money.

A good, old fashioned hotel, but in a less than great location. Rooms were modest in size (ours was a "superior" double), only one chair. Dining room very opulent, food good, service OK. Public rooms were very grand.

Receptionist insisted that we should pay 125 euro instead of 99 euro, after we showed him the confirmation e-mail from Venere, he did not even apologise for his mistake. Room itself and cafe were nicem but charging internet over10 euro a day is too much!

Metropole is a 3 star hotel with a 5 star attitude. Description says "recently renovated" which means that spa is closed, and only some rooms redone. Mine wasn't. Breakfast buffet at 25€ extra is minimalistic served in basement. Internet is 28€ extra per day. That being said, location is good and the hotel works, it just doesn't live up to the standard it's pretending to have.

Good surprise: our booking was upgrated and we had a deluxe room instead of a standard one. Good bargain on Venere.com: more than 1/2 the regular price. Very attending and kind staff, gorgeous hotel in the very center of brussels (3 min away from the Grand' place).

A grat hotel with great location, and very nice prices during the week-end. Grand Place is 5 minutes away on foot, an Place St. Catherine less than 10 minutes. Great value for money if you can get a week-end discount.

Poor breakfast. Some trouble with the fancy, but old fashioned lift. Arrogant people at the reception: they wanted to charge us 30 euros more without any reason, and did not even apologize when they realized they were wrong.

We stayed 1 night in a small group.
The location was good and the rooms were nice and quiet. Traditional Belgian interior decoration was gorgeous. Everything was satisfactory except the concierges and the too long waiting time to check-in and check-out.
The concierges gave us false information on opening hours of shops nearby, different answers about the route to the airport, etc.
but didn't say sorry.
We paid more than 200 Euro per one single room and we felt it was too expensive for the service we received.
