While the Hotel Majestic in Brindisi had all the appropriate qualities (clean, helpful staff, quiet, a block from the train station), Brindisi itself is a place from which to leave by train, airport, or ferry. It has few tourist attractions and limited charm. The huge drawback to the Majestic is that it is six to eight blocks away from any restaurants and the hotel itself does not have one. It is also three blocks away from the shopping and the better lighted areas so walking back at night from dinner is not comfortable unless with a group of people. It also seems that the nightly "passigiata" or nightly walk after dinner is not custominary in Brindisi so the streets are rather deserted. There is also a long flight of stairs without a suitcase ramp to enter the front door. Stay closer to the waterfront for a more comfortable feeling.

Stayed for 1 night and found it very convenient for the airport.Follow the centro signs and you will see it on the left at some traffic lights. Parking is at the front of the hotel behind the blue rope (key to unlock rope in reception).If you are on the Ryanair flight to Brindisi, don,t worry about a meal at that time of night. Turn right out of reception and walk down the main road to the harbour (5-10 mins) and turn left for a good pizza and general restaurant open until late. Also, don,t believe the bad press about Brindisi centre, sure its rough around the edges, but the main street has some excellent shops and several cafes and trattoria,s etc. Its well worth a few hours. All in all, the hotel is an old style hotel with a basic continental breakfast, but the rooms are clean and I will use it again.
