We were glad we chose this hotel for a three night stay in Boulogne. It is ideally located in a pleasant largely pedestrianised area, close to the nicer end of the port with several bars and restaurants and a short walking distance from the old town. Our room was a decent size with a modern and well equipped en suite, extremely comfortable beds and - despite a feedback comment by an earlier visitor - both bolsters and pillows! The hotel was generally quiet other than for one very noisy early morning (probably) departing guest. The staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The hotel garage is close by and available at 7 euros a day. We would stay there again without hesitation.

It was just ok. The picture of the hotel with the church in the old town in the background was mis leading as you could not see the church from anywhere from the hotel. we presumed we had booked something much closer to the old town. We could not park anywhwere near the hotel as the street is no entry and it took us an age to find it.

I first booked a single room and a twin bedded room then modified the booking by telephone to two twin bedded rooms: on arriving we were offered a double bed and a twin bed room - not what I had ordered: the hotel had made a mistake and was full so we accepted this - the attitude of the lady at the counter was not at all apologetic - good location but you need to get the timing right if you are in a car: overpriced breakfast - €9 - for this type of hotel - we did not take it: Shower in bathroom clean but minute - will not reuse this hotel.

A well run hotel with efficient friendly staff. When unable to seat us for breakfast in the dining room we were immediately offered a meal in our room which was delivered promptly. I would particularly recommend the nearby Brasserie Hamiot (rue Faidherbe) for dinner.

We We were delighted with every aspect ot the hotel and the service provided we will certainly be staying there again and would not hesitate to recommend it. A more detailed map of the exact location of the hotel would have been helpful.

More emphasis needs to made on the web page that there is excellent SECURE garage available at a daily cost and advising customers of the hotels excellent position for access to restaurants etc.

We enjoyed our stay here, it was just right for a base. Yes the room was a little small but it was only to sleep in. I would have preffered to have had coffee-tea making facilities instead of the mini-bar. With the price of drinks in the hypermarket buying from the mini-bar was a rip off. But everything else was good and you were made to feel quite welcome.

Very difficult to find the hotel! It's in the middle of a one-way street. Between 10am & 7pm, one end of the street has bollards to stop entry and the other end is no entry! Garage is about 100metres away and not well signed - you also need a pin number to enter. This all means that you have to find somewhere to park (difficult) and walk to the hotel - not a very satisfactory arrangement.

We've stayed at the Metropole a few times and although it can be a bit of a nuisance getting luggage to the hotel the location is worth it. Service is always friendly and helpful and the breakfast room is very pleasant. I've stayed in other hotels in Boulogne but the Metropole is always good value

Excellent location for shops, cafes, bars and the old town. Parking is a bit hit and miss, but that's more to do with Boulogne than the hotel itself, I think...

The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is brilliantly located for shops, restuarants and the old town. The rooms whilst not large are spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The secure parking is a great benefit The hotel offers excellent value

The hotel suited our needs although the car park being full made our arrival a little more stressful. Rooms were a good size and clean. To get to other floors you will need to choose between the lift and stairs - both have their own risk element but ay least there are lights in the lift. I'd definitely go back but might take a torch. Central location meant bars and restaurants were on the doorstep.

Centrally located within walking distance to all attractions. town shuts down in the evening so was nice and quiet. Only negative was the parking. They have limited parking so they should inform you that you need to reserve a parking space or walk a distance to a parking lot.

Some explanation of the parking system is required as the streetis locked off. You need to walk the hotel and take a remote control device to lower two sets of bollards to reach the garage. Once that hurdle was jumped we had a great time

Good hotel, convenient for the shops and restaurants in Bolougne. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Only cricticsim is that location hard to find based on web page details which implied that it was near the old town (photo gave impression right next to tower whereas about 15 minute walk which is not good when dragging suitcases). Facilities clean and well maintained.
