I had a party of 20 guests arriving in blackpool on 16/02/08 for my birthday weekend, and i booked 2 double rooms on this site. I booked another twin room in my name through another, similar site and i advertisd to my friends and family to book the Norbreck Castle.
All in all we had 11 rooms booked in the hotel for my celebrations.
On arrival, my friends had no problems checking into the hotel with the bookings made on similar sites. My room and my mothers room however had not been booked, as a result of this website.
The Gentleman on reception, whom i recall as Carl, was very helpful and offered appologies on behalf of the hotel. However i feel the booking issues were not the fault of the hotel and actually fall with Venere.com.
As a result of the booking, or lack of. My mother, our parners and i did not recieve the rooms we requested. We had the option of twin rooms, with no windows or the option we decided to take which was a double room, but with a smaller double bed?
However we did not have a reduced fee, we paid the 65 pounds as advertised when we booked the rooms we requested.
As compensation Carl arranged a free dinner in the hotel, however all my guests had their meals included in the booking. And paid the same price for their rooms.
On top of this, my room was connected to another with a door covered by a wardrobe. The noise levels in the other room were not high, however i could hear very clearly the gentleman breathing/eating/talking/going to the toilet. I did not sleep at all.
The restaurant food was horrible and the service of the restaurant staff was even worse.
The hotel put the blame with venere.com, i would really apriciate a reponse from yourselfs into why you feel it acceptable to advertise and sell something you clearly cannot offer.
This birthday was a very special occation for me, i had friends and family attending, and between us we gave Norbreck Castle hotel a large booking. Needless to say i have lost my faith in your of

We requested a double room as there was no facility on line to request a family room [we are 2 adults and a baby, so did not need an extra bed]but i did ring before hand and was told the price of hiring a cot and we would be able to have a room that would accomodate us. Unfortunately on arrival we were allocated a room on an upper floor with 5 sets of stairs! We were given another room , but this was not prepared properly and i felt the staff were unhelpfull.

this was the first time we visited norbreck castle.i was horrified to read all the reviews before we went and was not looking forward to going.when we arrived we were pleasantly suprised at the location and cleanliness of rooms as this was a major issue in the reviews read.the only problem we had was that there wasnt enough car parking spaces available and that the there was only one lift for all 5 floors.some staff were quite snotty and not very helpful where as others couldnt help enough.we did find that the price we paid was a bit much for the rooms but we did book last minute in peak season.we would stay again as the location was ideal to see the lights.

The rooms were very small and did not smell particularky pleasant.they were also noisy One member of our party found a tramp asleep in his room. At check in the staff were not very friendly or helpful. I will not be returning.
