Very reasonable price for a 4* hotel, obviously targeted at business travellers. Weekend rate (Fri/Sat/Sun) was amazing for this style of hotel.
Quite easy to reach from Indauxtu Metro IF you pick the right exit from the station! The "wrong" exit can emerge in an unfamiliar street, a few mins further away. For airport access, it's probably better to go the one Metro stop from Indauxtu to San Mames which is adjacent to the "Termibus" depot from where the airport bus leaves, than go to the alternative Plaza Moyua and wait at the stop there.
The hotel area is not very well provided with restaurants for early evening dinner; in fact we found nowhere to have a conventional knife/fork meal anywhere before 21.00, though tapas ('pinchos') style snacking is available in almost every bar, at varying quality levels. More eating choice can probably be found in the old town area, about 10 mins by metro (but again probably not before 21.00!).
Hotel food was good quality, nicely served and fair value as a 'room service' facility, but we felt that eating in the actual restaurant was aimed at expense account diners, and portions were not generous for the prices asked. Breakfast buffet was the most varied and best quality we have ever seen anywhere in Europe. It's unlikely you could eat sufficient to justify the price though, and still want lunch!
Non-smokers may find the lack of a smoking area (or non-observance of one) in public areas of the hotel annoying.
Overall a comfortable stay, in a quiet and convenient location, at a sensible price for the accommodation.

a great hotel not far from everything. 10 minutes to the Guggenheim and Museo de Bellas Artes and 5 minutes to some great restaurants and high end fashion shops. Service was great and even though the parking cost is a little high in my opinion worth it for the fact that everything is close by. The old city (Casco Viejo) is a great place for excellent nightlife and again only 10-15 minutes walking. Highly recommend this hotel when in Bilbao.

This hotel caters to busines travelers. We found the reception and service rather cold and disinterested. The location was not as close to the museum, restaurants and shopping as we would have liked. Though the rooms were very nice we opted to stay only one night.

We booked two rooms for the week between Christmas and New Years and got a fabulous rate. The hotel is top quality with beautiful rooms, comfortable and quiet, and a gorgeous lobby with bar and restaurant and an art gallery in the breakfast area. Our hosts told us it was formerly a maternity hospital and once we knew that we could see it in the layout. It wraps a statuesque older building that now houses the restaurant, but the rear area is modern and very clean.
It is primarily a corporate hotel so this was a good week for leisure travelers to come. IT was a little hard to find as the city is full of one way streets and narrow lanes, but the directions were correct - we just had some trouble with traffic and signage - the Basque language is unfamiliar. Parking was great, under the hotel and reasonable. Fabulous location near everything in Bilbao - we walked everywhere except when we went to San Sebastian and Santander. The Basque coast is very beautiful and the city is rich in art, history and culture - we will definitely come back!

Hotel was good and very business like, and is within five minutes walk of the Metro which takes you pretty much anywhere you want to go. However the price was quite high compared to general Spanish standards. I think I would try something else next time - there was nothing specifically wrong, but I would have liked a hotel with a bit more character. And the bar did have a couple of (high class) prostitutes who were clearly condoned by the management and which perhaps emphasises the corporate nature of the place.

This hotel was nice. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was located within walking distance to some attractions, and that made it very convenient. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would recomend it.

Our first stay at the Silken Indautxu. Excellent room - everything first quality. Good location but street parking very difficult. Excellent buffet breakfast. Fully recommend for value.
We lived in Bilbao many years ago but did not know the hotel and based our choice on site information only.

We were extremely pleased with the hotel and its location (a short walk from the Guggenheim). In fact, we decided to stay at another Silken hotel in Barcelona the following night, and we equally pleased with that.

Good, modern, clean hotel that is situated close to public transport and a short walk to centre. Did not use restaurant but did use hotel cafeteria that was well used by locals for coffee , beers etc. Lots of bars / restaurants close to the hotel. We enjoyed our short break with the hotel being excellent value.

MUY BUENA RELACIÓN CALIDAD- PRECIO, LA HABITACIÓN MUY AMPLIA Y TANTO LOS AMENITIES COMO LOS PEQUEÑOS DETALLES CUIDADOS AL MÁXIMO. BUEN SERVICIO DE TELEVISIÓN, RADIO Y TEMPERATURA DE LA HABITACIÓN.
LA ÚNICA PEGA, QUE LA BAÑERA ERA UN POCO ANTIGUA Y SE REGULABA UN POCO MAL EL AGUA CALIENTE.

First, what a lovely city, we had a great time. The hotel is superb, our room was massive and the beds were so comfy we didn't wan't to get out in the morning. The hotel is only a couple of minuets from the smart shops in the new town and was easy to find, even walking from the Airport bus. When we go to Bilbao again (and we will) then we will be staying here again.

Excellent situation, 10 mins walk to Guggenheim, metro and shopping.Clean, spacious and all you could wish for in a central hotel. In a safe area with many restaurants and bars. Front desk staff were extremely helpful.Best buffet breakfast I've ever seen. Lots of areas to sit and drink, talk, read, with other people or tucked away to be quiet. The first English newspaper we'd seen for 3 weeks - the Telegraph was at the front desk each day for us to read. Can't fault it at all, excellent value for money.

Stayed just one night in the hotel - staff although busy were friendly and helpful.
The decor of the hotel is a little dark and perhaps dated but the attitude of staff more than compensated.
Useful stop over, good value fo money, unsure of suitability for longer stay in Bilbao

One of the best hotels I have ever seen. Rooms are extremely large, the bathroom very nice and the cosmetics available into the bathroom very good and design packed. Available breakfast very early in self service and at decent hours with a professional service and large choice.

Stayed at the Silken Indautxu for two nights in July before going to San Sebastian. Room, food and service very good. Only problem was actually finding the hotel. Spent about a hour driving around teh one way system until we finally loacted. And beware the underground car park, which wasn't that easy to find one we found the hotel. The staff speak good English and tehre were lots of nice spots to chill out after a day's sightseeing. The Guggenheim Museum is a wonder. Two days just about right.

Good location and very pleasant rooms; cool with prompt and pleasant room service; delightful breakfast; which is more than I can say for the male receptionist who gave no welcoming smile on arrival. When we were delayed in leaving he refused to look for our hire car keys which had been left at reception whilst I waited for my wife to return from the police station where she had gone to report the theft of her handbag from the car whilst we were preparing to leave. We sat in the hotel reception for 3 hours waiting for Hertz to come and break into our hired car because the keys were lost. On their arrival they went to reception, to the same concierge, to tell him they were going to the hotel's car park to break into the car; 20 minutes later they came back up and this same receptionist produced the car keys which he said had been found in the men's toilet. I had searched that same toilet twice, there were no keys there! The hotel manager did not apologise for this incident; I have written to the hotel but received no reply. This incident ruined what was part business trip and part holiday and is not what one would expect of a first class hotel.

A great stay at this hotel. Staff very friendly, knowledgeable and multi-lingual. Well placed for bars and restaurants. Guggenheim easy 10mins walk. 15 mins to Old Town or 6 euros in a taxi (which arrive seconds after hotel phones!). Approx 16 euros to hotel from airport. A very good value hotel. Some rooms on the 6th floor have balconies.

I was able to book this hotel by searching on the web. Booking couldn't have been easier. Having read other peoples reviews of hotels I requested that the room be near the top of the hotel as we wanted a quiet bedroom which we got. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The room was large, the bathroom spotless and plenty of hot water. The room was quiet. We ate once in the hotel in the bar restaurent which did a fixed price menu that came with a bottle of wine. It was excellent. The rate was good and we were central which was excellent as we went out to a coffee bar for our breakfast. If we go to Bilbao again I would definately try to book in at this hotel.

I would recommed this hotel to anyone visiting Bilbao. Everywhere is within a short walk. Just one quibble single occupancey is charged as a double which when the room is clearly a single room doesn't make sense. Saying that it is still good value for money
