We were near to most of what we wanted to see We walked most places and used the tram which was just over the river. Walking distances to everything.
The hotel was modern clean and quiet.
It was easy to find.

I was very lucky as I actually booked a double room for individual use and as the Hotel was full they gave me a suite, so couldn't be better.
The breakfats was not included ,but you can have a basic breakfast for 4 euros in the Hotel, and there is a bigger one with more options but that one is a little expensive around 12 euros, or you have nice places to have a breakfast just outside the Hotel to the left.
the Hotel is very modern but cozy and perfectly clean the rooms.
The only but, I needed for my mobile charger (which is irish and have three plugs) a adapter, and they say in the room service booklet that they have but when I ran they didn't have.Hopefully they will improve that.
The Hotel is 10 minutes walking to the right to the Guggenheim museum.

Staff was helpful eventhough some dont speak English well. Room for single person is small but aftercomplaining about noise of the room next door , I was given the new room right away, eventhough it was midnight, very responsible and attentive staff. Will be staying there again if I go to Bilbao.

I really liked to stay at Barceló Nervión. We payed very little but got much in return! Breakfast wasn't included but you get an extended breakfast buffet for only 6,5 euro. It's close to the Guggenheim museum. The room is somewhat small but clean and comfortable. Very good hotel!

Hotel was more corporate than we usually book but had a nice, busy atmosphere. Staff were friendly and extremely welcoming - don't speak much English so try some Spanish with a smile and they'll help you out.. Rooms were very clean and well-maintained. Lifts took ages so you might want to walk unless you're on the top floor. Bar is very nice for breakfast and it's a short walk to Casca Viejo to the left and Guggenheim to the right. Metro and trams are very reliable so give them a try. We'll return to BIlbao and would stay here again.

With my second visit to Bilbao, this hotel has been described as "very close to Casco Viejo." However in vain, it is over 1km away from a hotel, so I had to carried two bottles of waters all the way from Casco Viejo. Also, I did not think about a size of this hotel. It is quite large hotel, so I had to walk down all the way to get to my room from an elevetor, sigh. Taking showers from my neighborhood rooms are so evident from early in a morning. Otherwise, this hotel is nice located and clean.

ho trovato l'hotel molto valido. Giusto mix tra qualità e prezzo. Personale cortese, ottima caffetteria.

The reception was not good. First, they couldn’t find the booking. I had forgot to bring confirmation on paper, so I had to search in Internet for my reservation before I got the room. The employers in the reception couldn’t speak English. The people in the reception was not service-minded. For instance, we asked a couple of times where we could buy stamps, and we felt that they got embarrassed. One time, a girl in the reception said that the stamps that the reception had before that day was finished, but they could send our postcards together with the mail from the hotel. So we gave her money for stamps. Those postcards are still missing, and we have told our the relatives that we don´t expect that they will get any postcards (It´s now 1 ½ week since we send them. If the postcards come – I will inform. I don´t like to accuse someone without reasons)

Immer wieder gerne !

We enjoyed our stay very much, the breakfasts were excellent but rather pricey especially compared to the value for money evening meal. It would be really good for the Hotel Restaurant to be open to residents on Sunday evenings, we had to go a long way to find somewhere to eat on a very rainy Sunday evening

Though I`ve got confirmation for the room at the 10. of Janurary, there was no room reserved at my arrival! The only rooms left were rooms at the Ria-side, which gave me an extra cost at 30 euro pr night !!! Late at nigth I had no choise. The desk-clerk should have given me the avvaible room for my reservationprice or at least for a reduced price - poor poor service

Overall the hotel was very good value, but for one aspect. It was very noisy. The walls seemed to be very thin and it was easily possible to hear snoring from an adjoining room. Every time the toilet was used it created a great deal of noise.

Everything was fine in the hotel but they did not have out booking and it took nearly an hour to find us accommodation on what was a very busy weekend in Bilbao.
They maintained that the reservation number had nothing to do with them and that they had never heard of Venare!
We are therefore very wary about using your service again.
We would appreciate a response from you about this.

the hotel was easy to find, only one moan, as we entered the hotel to check in we were given a frosty reception, this may have been due to us turning up on a motorcycle and dressed in leathers.

I was really surprised to see the interior of the hotel. From the outside, and from the price, I was expecting a small 3 stars hotel, but what I saw inside is almost 5 stars! The internet cafe is the best feature! Location to Guggenheim was perfect!

The hotel is okay, but it is definetely not 4-stars even by European standards. The wall paintings in grass-green over the corridors is out of any taste. The restaurant was not open during our 2-days stay; the bar is not very attractive.
I was upset on check out when they asked me to pay for the garage (9Eu/day), because on check in they said that the garage is free and the same was mentioned in a welcome kit in the room.

You'll probably see my earlier review down the page froma year or so ago. Still an excellent place to stay, the location is perfect so close to so many attractions of Bilbao - old quarter, Guggenheim, new centre, parks etc. One tip try and book early as the price will be a bit cheaper on the net if you do.

Good location, efficient staff, nice hotel. Had to pay for parking which was a surprise plus on one of the nights the hotel car park was full and we had to park across the street which was inconvenient.

a very welcoming hotel, the staff were very polite and spoke english. only dissatisfaction the hotel was advertised with only front facing rooms looking over the river, this infact is not correct as the room we had was at the rear of the building. the room itself was very clean and spacious .

Really good value for money and excellent situated between Guggenheim Museum, old Theatre and tram station opposite river. Rooms good BUT noise level not - you hear the toilet flushes very loud from your neighbour. In the middle of the night the sudden hard noise wakes one with a schock. Contrary to other comments, the dinner in the restaurant was a huge disappointment - no English not even from a very unfriendly maitre d' who did not even understand when you ask for butter. With a tour group keeping them busy, they totally forget to care about their individual client.

Rooms were fantastic value and were a pleasure to stay in. Location was also perfect for access to the Guggenheim and the centre of Bilbao. Unfortunately, staff at check in and at the concierge were less than welcoming. Overall though, a lovely place to stay.

Good location. Very good service. Good food, including the best breakfasts on a 6ooo km tour. Rooms utilitarian rather than spacious, but with the benefit of good fittings and service support. Generally well up to the advertised standard.

The hotel was as good as the reviews already posted with Venere described it would be. For value for money and location this place takes some beating. The staff were superb and the buffet breakfast is a must. The hotel is a gem of a place for both business and leisure customer's.

I chose this hotel having read the other reviews on this site but was a bit disappointed. My room was very poky and dark - even with all the available lights on. The net curtains were dirty and the room smelt cigarettes. However, the public areas were much nicer and the set menu excellent for 16 euros.
