Didn't expect much as reviewers said the hotel is actually between 2 and 3 stars. But, the room was spacious, clean, and moderately furnitured. Very satisfied in general. Later realised the area is well-known as a place for gay people. One should be aware this is not cancellable after 2 weeks before arrival.

I got a very good markdowned price. This hotel is suppose to be 4 stars and is between a 2 and 3. If I had paid more I would have been very upset. The hotel right-up made it more like a small bouquet hotel when in fact it is a tourist. However location was quite nice and easy to get to the subways. It is in an old part of town.

I didn't like the hotel for a whole lot of reasons. Basically, it wasn't what I expected from a 4 stars, although reasonably priced. 1. Cheap furniture in rooms and the rest (not much else, actually) of the hotel. 2. Poor breakfast: no way to see a croissant or cake or pastry, other than the one depicted on the placemats. 3. No minibar in the room. To get me a bottle of mineral water at night has been a troublesome task for the receptionist, who took it from beneath his desk, at room temperature (bar closed and no fridge or vending machines at all). Even more tricky to find the money for the change (since he wanted to be paid immediately, I had no choice but to give him 20 Euros...). 4. No air conditioning: though generally Berlin is not very hot, those days it was, and the only chance to get some mild comfort was in keeping the window open all night long. 5. No curtains suitable to get the room dark: a sleep mask is essential, or you'll be forced to wake up at first light. 6. Substandard service: the chambermaid may break in your room unannounced at 7.00 a.m., so remember to always lock the door or hang the "do not disturb" flag outside (grrr...) 7. The slowest lift ever. If you're in Berlin for a short stay, better use the stairs. In the end, despite how much I love the city, I found this hotel a sad, boring, desolate and unfriendly place to stay: definitely not worth the price.

Excellent location, comfortable rooms and very courteous staff. In many ways, the hotel exceed our expectations - we would definitely stay there again.

The experience at the hotel was great. The rooms were outstanding (room 501) and the breakfast catered for everyone and was of a high quality. The hotel bar was very pleasant, although the menu's were in German only and staff found it diffucult to translate.

This was our first trip to Berlin and Hotel Artim was great! It was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful. What a great deal for the price we paid (especially after what we had just paid in Rome, Italy). Many people wrote in previous comments about the area (homosexual stores and such) but honestly you can barely notice all this. It really was a non-issue. I would gladly stay here again and I look forward to returning to Berlin.

Localización espléndida. Habitaciones ultrasilenciosas y amplias.

Whilst good value for money this hotel lacks atmosphere. On returning to the hotel at nights there was no chance of mixing with other travellers as the bar was closed and the hotel appeared deserted. We met a lot of people in the morning at breakfast so the hotel appeared full. The breakfast was very good. My next Berlin trip we will book a more lively spot.

nice hotel welcoming reception, good rooms if a little small, the public areas were not inviting, and I don't think it qualifies as a four star, for example I asked the bar for a bourbon, they only carried one brand of inferior whiskey, I asked for ice for my room and was handed a glassful with an admonition to bring the glass back! its in a quiet street near two metro stations in a gay friendly district, we had a good time overall.

The hotel was fine. Service good and rooms clean and spacious. One caveat though! The area in which it is located is one where gayness is openly accepted. The hotel is close by bars and cinemas where gay men congregate and wander freely hand in hand. There are also a number of large sex shops very close to the Artim. Whilst as 2 grown up people on holiday alone without our children, this was all fine, those who would be sensitive to these aspects need to be aware.

The structure is good and confortable. However I don't think it possesses the characteristics of an Hotel with four stars. It is a good three stars Hotel located in the center of Berlin, with silent rooms and very big breakfast.
