Quality Hotel Carlton - Beaulieu-sur-Mer

I already did this, it seems to be lost. Basicxally - the breakfasts were pretty good, except the ham and cheese were 'plastic', but the food, if you did want to eat in at lunch or dinner, bore absolutely no relation whatsoever to the regional food.. It was more like hospital food! No flavour of any kind. All shipped in by a French version of Brake Brothers Catering Suppplies! Beaulieu has a daily market where wonderful fresh stuff can be be bought. Why don't they use this, instead of the tasteless pap they serve up. The staff, the ambience, and the proximity to the beach, were wonderful.

We booked the cheapest room we could and it was TINY, the smallest room we had in all Europe. The rest of the hotel was quite nice but very noisy round the pool as there is a basketball ground right next door. We also thought breakfast was included - it wasn't so it cost more than expected. Probably wouldn't go back.

A pleasant hotel in nice surroundings However the small room is tiny - not too clean with marks on the walls and the fridge on the floor. The wardrobe doors do not open far enough to look into the mirror. The bathroom shower is tiny and the tiles outdated. Carpets have seen better days. I suggest booking one of the larger rooms and not advertising the small ones. This was the last hotel of our touring holiday and by far the worst room we had had. It is supposed to be a 4* but the facilities did not live up to this catagory.

Hotel claims to be a 4-star hotel. At best it's a 3-star establishment. Our room was extremely small, offering not even enough room for two small suit cases. The staff was friendly, helpful and multi-lingual. There was no discount via venere.com: rack rate posted in room was same as booked via venere.com

Nice quiet aria of the hotel - 3 minutes to the beach - typical building of cote d`azur with pool an nice garden - center of the village also 5 minutes / lots of typical restaurants [called "brasserie"] and very good quality!

We very much enjoyed an overnight stay at the Carleton. The pool was wonderful, and it was fun to play ping pong in the recreaction room. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety of choices, and it was lovely to sit outside on the flower surrounded terrace. The room was rather small, but was fine for one night, but for a longer stay I would suggest asking for a larger room. The room had some semi-elegant touches which were nice, and the mattress was very good. All in all a very pleasant visit in a lovely area. The map on-line needs to be clarified for access to the street, which I pointed out to the staff, and hopefully is fixed by now.

The room is too small. Maintanance - very poor.much force to operate the faucet. can't sit down on the lavatory bowl. the paint on walls - peels. only one reading lamp beside the queen bed. LAST TIME TO VISIT THESE HOTELS

My husband Gerald and I, our daughter, son-in-law and 11-month-old grandson spent a perfect week at the Hotel Carlton in Beaulieu-sur-mer. We loved the spacious rooms and the sparkling pool. We also enjoyed this location because within less than an hour's travel by car, there were so many terrific places to visit including Eze, St. Paul in Vence and Monaco. Breaskfast at cafes near the market (and the evening of Italian music) were great and we had a wonderful dinner at a different restaurant every night. The young Irish woman at reception was particularly helpful with recommendations and reservations. We can't wait to return to the Carlton!

Very kind and competent employees. Room clean but too small, would not rate it four stars. Expensive breakfast with poor choice.
