Features a shower cabin with a plastic curtain which gives very dirt impression and makes taking a shower a very unpleasant experience.

We liked the hotel because it was in the centre of Baveno. Our restaurant was the best and the cheepest. We loved the pizzas. Near the hotel, there is a train station so it was sometimes noisly. The rooms were very clean. This h otel is nice for young people or students because it is really cheep for Lago maggiore.

I.Liked our stay on the hotel, the breakfast very early from 8 till 9.30, for a vacation this time is much too early and also we dont now this before the booking. The hotel and the restaurant is very nice.

Very nice welcoming, good value for money : cleaning and clean towels every day , good breakfast (continental breakfast + choice of charcuterie). Hotel very well situated ; closed to : the lake, shops, restaurants and boats departures for Borromes Islands. The train is very closed and noisy, thankfully we had a very deep sleep... The map on the website does not provide all information but the hotel is easy to find (once you know where the church is). We have prefered Baveno to stay comparing to Stresa (Baveno is quite, Stresa is crowdy and noisy).

The hotel doesn't absolutely correspond to a category "three stars" but a star!!!!

As this hotel is located very close to the mail railway, if you care about the noise of the trains during the night, this hotel cannnot be recommended. Other than the noise of trains, everything is very good taking the reasonable price into consideration.

It was the off season, so there were only two couples in the entire place and I think they could have rolled out the red carpet a little more. The towels were clean, but holey. Breakfast was worth it. The hotel is one block from a beautiful church and three blocks from the port.

This hotel is absolutely NOT 3 star quality. There was no lift. The rooms, carpets, furniture and furnishings were tatty and the lighting was poor. Our door had been kicked in and had a great hole in it. The hotel looked as though no work had been done on it for the last 20 years. Very bad value although it was quite close to the lake.

I stayed in Baveno because it was more affordable than Stresa, but to be honest I rather preferred it. It is less grand, but there are more Italians, fewer rich tourists, and is all rather friendly. And looks good. The Alpino is in a great location, just below the very attractive train station and right by the old square which is very beautiful, particularly at night. The hotel looks a bit run-down as you enter it, and they are rather laid-back, the guy might be in the restaurant and for a minute it look like no one will help. But the room was absolutely fine and you can come back as late as you lake. It is a bargain really. My only complaint is how they hassle you to leave the room at 10am, which after the laid-back approach is a little strange, but it wasn't really a problem. The lobby wasn't too inviting, but the room was in a charming little courtyard. Again, I can't sing Baveno's praises highly enough, it's just as convenient for access to the islands etc as Stresa, and has everything you might want for a night or two.

Hotel pas trop mal surtout pour le prix. Manque la clim pour une région aussi chaude. Bruit des trains mais quand on est fatigué on dort! Très jolie petite église à coté.

Good value - I would stay here again. The only problem was the railway and noise of trains at night - but Bavano is a small place so most hotels would have some noise and it did not bother us at all. Staff friendly and spoke English. Shops and restaraunts in nearby Stresa are good value.

For few nights is good. For a longer time is too poor of services and comforts.

Basic and a little bit old and dirty, but good for the price in this area. We did not find the noise from trains to be a problem at all (as other feedback had reported).

The price got from the web was higher than neighbour hotels and higher if I should come without web ordering.

On our tour of Italy the Alpino was the cheapest hotel we stayed at and the first. After seeing the rest we know that we got what we paid for. Location was good - a stroll to the local market and lake. The staff were efficient and the rooms clean. We ate at the pizzeria and enjoyed our meal. We would not return as the noise from the trains was too much. We asked to be moved to a quieter room if possible and staff readily allowed us to move to another room on the other side of the hotel farther from the station. Although they had also advised us that the train noise would be the same in all rooms we found the second room slightly quieter, bigger (it had a balcony) and with a better en-suite and more windows.

We enjoyed staying at this very clean and friendly hotel. But we would not stay there again because of the very noisy railway right next to it, which kept us awake at night.

It's well worth staying at the Alpino if you're on a tight budget, as it's much cheaper than some of the other hotels around there. It's a fairly strange little place, and is badly in need of updating, but our room was great. Ask for room 210 - it's the only one with a lake view, and it's nice and spacious with a balcony too. Baveno is a good alternative to Stresa as you can still reach all the islands.

Very cute and welcoming on arrival. Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Room a pleasant surprise, better than expected. Would gladly return and stay longer! only minuses, did not like the "modern - greenhouse style" restaurant, and the trains. The rest makes up for it.

Hotel Alpino is right in the heart of the lakeside town of Baveno. A walk to the lakeside just take a few minute and the lake view from Baveno is great. The rooms are just mediocre and is not spacious enough.

Our rooms (small apartment) were located in a kind of apartment house, not the hotel itself and differed from the photos shown on the homepage significantly. Very acceptable relationship between price and quality, recommendable for a short stay.
