A warm welcome to the Metropol Swiss Quality Hotel to the heart of the city of Basle. Thanks to our central position near the railway station for SSB and SNCF services and the Air Terminal, you have quick access to Basle’s diversity.
Important points such as the trade fairground, banks, cultural institutions, shopping areas and Basle’s sights can be conveniently reached by tram (for you as a hotel guest free with our Mobility Ticket) in no time at all.

It appears to be a new building. It's very modern in design. It's biggest advantage is location, just steps away from tram central and central railroad station. The hotel gives a free transportation pass valid for length of stay. I did not find the reception staff to be very friendly, one seemed miffed at having to hand over my room key. I don't belive the hotel deserves a four star rating... there is no restaurant.
HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL
The hotel is just a short walk away from the railway station (Bahnhof SBB/SNCF) and the Air Terminal, where the airport bus leaves every fifteen minutes for the airport.
Direct access to the motorway for Swiss/German/French destinations is nearby. If you are coming from the direction of Germany or Switzerland, take the motorway exit "Basel-City" and follow signs for Bahnhof SBB. We are situated right on the central station precinct (Centralbahnplatz), opposite the Elisabethenpark. Follow the signs marked "Hotels am Bahnhof".
You can park in our underground garage in the Küchengasse.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. You cannot cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a non refundable or prepaid rate.
