The proprietor, Michele, was extremely gracious, cordial and helpful. The meals he prepared for us (breakfast every day and two full course dinners) were excellent, delicious home cooked local fare. We were traveling with a group with the purpose of locating relatives in the area. Michele located & put us in contact with the relatives we weren't even sure existed. The resort is in a countryside location, but is fully equipped to make the stay very enjoyable. Michele is knowledgeable and helpful regarding surrounding points of interest.

This is a farm type stay out in the country. It is famiily run. It is a bit difficult to find but, once you do, it is a good location for exploring the surrounding countryside. We have never stayed in a farm-type place. The room was spacious with a kitchen but plain. All facilities were clean. We enjoyed speaking with the owner. We recommend staying here.

We were three couples on motorcycles, they gave us three spacious adjoining rooms. Dinner was a set menu and very good too as were the wines

The owner and his family were very nice. The food was good and the wine great. The owner had made it. Tranquil setting.

Upon arrival no one at the reception. However once we made contact with son,he was very helpful. Family provided us with lots of information about the area & driving directions. Hotel served our purpose as a central base for visiting relatives in the area.

We loved the Holiday Residence. It's set in the country-side with easy access to all of Puglia. The owner, Michele, is very helpful with recomendations for places to do daytrips, including maps and pamplets. His wife, Luisa, does all of the amazing cooking on-site in their small resteraunt for guests. The prices are reasonable and the cooking wonderful. She is quite accomodating, even allowing my spouse to watch her make some of her local specialties. Their son, Luca, is extremely nice and helpful and was genuinely interested in answering all of our questions on Italian life. They all work so hard 7 days a week, assuring the grounds are well kept and your stay is a pleasant one. Highly recommend this oasis in Puglia to anyone who's looking for a quiet base in which to visit the country-side or take a respite at their pool (or children's playground) after a tiring day of visiting the many tourist sites Michele can list off for you to see!

My granddaughters loved the owner. They gave up going into town for pizza in order to eat at his table. I think their love was returned by the owner. We trusted the family to allow the children to go to the playground alone.

The owner was a great guy, he realy went out of his way to help us. The price was really good and the home cooked food was tremendous.

We loved Hotel Holiday Residence! We arrived with one additional guest than we stated in our reservation and there was no problem accomodating us in a rather enjoyable "suite". Lucente made marvelous suggestions of what to do and where to go, including a map of the area. Hotel Holiday Residence was perfect for the relaxing weekend adventure we planned to Southeastern Italy. We would return in a heartbeat if we are in the area again. It would be fabulous in the summer for a family with children, especially small children, with the grounds and facilities.

It's location was out in the country surrounded by vinyards and farm lands. Very quite and peaceful. A nice change from staying in the cities. A touch of old Italy with nice reasonable accommodations. We traveled with three other adults and two very young children. I would go back for sure.

What a wonderful stay we had! Michele and his family took excellent care of us. The grounds and surrounding area were like a dream. The food was excellent and they accommodated our every need. We look forward to our next stay at Hotel Holiday Resident (Casamassima) on our next trip. We wouldn't think of staying any where else.

The owner was very warm and welcoming and helped us with our travel plans (and some problems with the car). But the room was rather soul-less and the dinner was leftovers barely warmed up (I think it was an off night for the cook). I suspect on other nights, there are better rooms available and the dinner can be quite good.

Lo usé por una noche, pero es un lugar preparado para quien desea descansar unos días alejado de la ciudad. De todos modos, no está lejos de la autopista, pero sugiero llegar de día si no conoce bien la zona. Es un sitio agradable, con buena comida y gente amigable. No lo use si su idea es estar unos días cerca de Bari para ir a la playa, pues la distancia no lo justifica. Lo volvería a utilizar si quisiera descansar dos o tres días en la zona antes de seguir de viaje.

When we arrived at Holiday Residence our host, the genial Michele, promised us, amongst other things, that his wife would show us some of her wonderful home-cooked recipes. In the event, we actually took away with us just two recipes. The first was for Luisa’s mouth-watering smoked salmon spaghetti sauce, by far the tastiest thing I experienced in the whole of our three-week Italian sojourn. The second recipe, however, was easily the more memorable and although it had no name I christened it “VACANZA ALLA FAMIGLIA LUCENTE”. First you take a large portion of the patriarchal Michele. Add to this two hunks of figli Italiani, first the hard-working Luca and then the ever-smiling Marco. Mix in a substantial amount of the ever-resourceful Luisa for sweetness and just a snippet of the enigmatic Anna for that secret special ingredient. Then mix the whole lot together and cook under the warm Puglian sun for a thousand or more sun-kissed lazy days and there you have it – the perfect combination for the warmest, friendliest holiday you’ll ever experience. Once you’ve tasted it, you’ll wonder why you ever went anywhere else!

OUR HOST -- MIKAEL - (EXCUSE MY SPELLING) GREETED OUR PARTY OF FOUR AND PROCEEDED TO INVITE US TO TASTE HIS OWN WINE UPON OUR ARRIVAL. WE LEARNED THAT THIS PROPERTY WAS IN THE PROCESS OF RECOVERING FROM A DEVESTATING FLOOD BROUGHT UPON BY RAIN THE PREVIOUS WEEK. MIKAEL AND HIS FAMILY WERE WORKING AROUND THE CLOCK TO REPAIR AND REPLACE ALL THE DAMAGED MATERIALS. OUR LITTLE VILLAS THAT WE OCCUPIED WERE UNTOUCHED AND PROVED TO BE WONDERFUL TWO ROOM SUITES. WITH A KITCHENETTE AND SPACIOUS BEDROOM. THE SURROUNDING VINEYARDS WERE AT THE END OF THIER PRODUCING SEASON AND PROVIDED A LINGERING FRAGRENCE OF GRAPES. THIS RESIDENCE IS LOCATED NERA THE GROWING CITY OF BARI AND QUIET NEAR OTHER WONDERFUL ITALIAN TREASURES SUCH AS 'ALBERGO' WITH IT'S 'TRULLI' CONE SHAPED HOUSES, AND NEARBY UNDERGROUD CAVERNS. MIKAEL ALSO PROVIDED US WITH WODERFUL HOME COOKED LUNCHES AND DINNERS, SERVED IN HIS DINNING ROOM (DECORATED WITH A COLLECTION OF TALL SHIPS OF OLD) ALSO AVAILABLE ARE A FULLY STOCKED LIBRARY/MUSIC ROOM/VIDEO ROOM, AND IN SEASON, THER IS A SMALL DISCO ON SITE. THE GROUNDS HAVE A SWIMMING POOL (LARGE) AND PLAY YARD FOR THE KIDS. ALL IN ALL, THIS RESIDENCE IS WELL WORTH THE TRIP AND MIKAEL IS THE MAESTRO OF THIS DOMAIN.

I was pleasantly surprised by the farm style hotel. The owner is fantastic and helps you plan your holiday to maximise the area's tourist highlights. He could not have been more helpful. The food and drink on offer were delicious and copious by any standard. Thankyou

Excellent stay, helpful hotel owner, and excellent authentic Italian food. The rooms would benefit from extra ventilation but that apart, an excellent location with lots to see and do in the area. I will return to see more of this area

The owner is giving lots of information about things to see in the region as well as maps of the area. Also very helpful about things to do and not to do. His cappuccino coffee in the morning is splendid but the breakfast is rather basic.

This is a nice location for families with small children. The Sauna and Gym were not available during our stay. The pool was clean and was not in demand for the two weeks we were here. Mr Lucente makes every effort to provide lots of information about the surrounding area. The breakfast could be bigger and better! There is no air conditioning although there is a fan supplied.

A car is required to get to the property and explore, but the owner and family were very helpful and the food is superb.

The room wasn't clean ; the included breakfast is poor and you have to pay 4€ for a full breakfast. Diner is expensive , we didn't try it. The swimming pool is fine.

Both our short stays at Holiday Residence were enjoyable. Mr Lucente and his family were very kind, friendly and helpful. Holiday Residence is situated in the middle of peaceful grape, cherry and olive growing countryside. However, it is only 5 minutes drive from the main Bari to Taranto dual carriageway and less than 30 minutes from Bari airport. Both the rooms we stayed in were large, well appointed and clean. The meals we had been filling and tasty traditional Italian fare. Mr Lucente uses as many ingredients as he can either from his farm or surrounding farms so everything is about as fresh as it is likely to get!!! We stayed during cherry picking season and Mr Lucentes’ boast that this area produces the best cherries in the world is not without good reason. This accommodation is ideal for visitors who need a stopover between Bari and destinations further South but would also be a good base for a weeks holidaying in Puglia due to its close proximity to both the SS100 and S16 main trunk roads. If we are in the area again we will definitely be staying here.

The self-contained cabins were lovely. However, we stayed only 1 night and had no access to the kitchen facilites (these were locked) which was disappointing. The location on the farm was terrific - we enjoyed walking around the property. The owner seemed to have the troubles of the world upon his shoulders - and the breakfast was just awful.

We were very pleased with the acomodation,we were given a choice of rooms.The employees were pleasent and welcomeing.All together a very enjoyable stay
