The hotel is very nice, clean and quiet (during the weekend). We booked several months ahead with the promise, breakfast would be included - which the staff denied. But after saying that this was a bonus with booking early via venere, they agreed. Breakfast was delicious. Overall a great place!

We made our reservations in Feb 07 for our stay in Jun 07. When we arrived they did not have any rooms for us for our first night. They put us up in another 4 star hotel for one night then moved us back into an upgraded room for our second night. It was an inconvenience and took away some of our visiting time, but they made it bearable. Other than this problem, it is a very nice hotel. Location is excellent.

Lovely hotel, great facilities and modern rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Near to Old port area, which was great for restaurants. My major complaint is that there was a lot of construction going on in/ around the hotel- lots of noise! And I mean noise at 8am in the morning on a Saturday and Sunday morning- no mercy hown to sleeping guests! Also during our stay the pool area was cleaned with a power hose....at 8.45am on a Sunday morning. Not ideal after a night out on Saturday. To be fair, most tourists will stay out late, particularly on a Saturday- why create noise like this?

I recommend it!
The hotel is nice and situated very close to the beach (Port Olimpic).
Easy to reach Plaza Catalunya in 10 minutes by bus 41.
Good quality/price relation, we stayed for 85 euros / night (doble room), unfortunately breakfast was not included in the price (they would charge 14 euros / person).
We walked 200 m to Port Olimpic and had a hugy breakfast in a nice bar on the beach for 6 euros each.

We'll be back and will recommend it to friends, quiet but only 5 mins from Metro which takes you to centre in 10 mins, easy parking if you dont want to use the garage, found the breakfast a bit pricey if all you really want is coffee and croissant.

Location was great for us - we walked to the congress center, a few minutes to the beach and we even walked home after a late night on town, although buses and metro were close by.
Paid extra for breakfast - 14E.
Big rooms, nice swimming pool and resting area, but the staff could certainly have beeen more welcoming and smiling.

Thank you for a lovely time. Oreal & all the reception staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help us. We hired bikes from reception and these were excellent. Thank You all. The rooms were lovely and we came back each day to a tidy room.

Hi, the hotel is new, really nice, blablabla, BUT when we checked in we received the dirty room at 6 pm, when we complained the staff did not appologise, they just mentioned that anybody could make mistakes.?What kind of attitude is that? All the reception staff is in their early 20-ies with good english, but shitty attitude. They gave us instead the suite, but there the toilet was not perfectly clean as if somebody just used it for something BIG, i have a very bad impression. The hotel itself is really nice, with plazma TVs and wonderfully arranged, but the rooms are facing the road and aroun 5am very many trucks are passing and it is impossible to sleep. The price is excellent.

Enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable room and bath. Good location relative to waterfront restaurants. Helpful staff. Hotel restaurant needs attention. Chaos on the one night we were prepared to "eat in." Kitchen understaffed. Should include b'fast in a revised rate. 24 euros for buffet for 2 light eaters too expensive. Would stay at Icaria again. Goodalue.

The check-in went particularly poorly, which I was not in the mood for, having flown all night from New York. I ended up making FOUR separate trips back to the front desk to figure out basics, such as how to turn on the lights and activate the air conditioning, which would not have been necessary had the proper information been conveyed to begin with. The air conditioning was inadequate -- the room was steaming when I arrived and did not cool down adequately until about the time I left, 24 hours or so after I arrived. The 14 Euro buffet breakfast was a total rip-off, and there were no real alternatives because of the remote location. The purported health club was tiny, un-air conditioned and had the sun beating down on it (i.e., unuseable). One young lady at the desk did help me by looking up a bus schedule on the internet, but I got the sense generally that any help at all (including calling a taxi) was grudging, and that I was imposing on the staff by even being there. Not a 4 star hotel in my opinion.

We had a suite on the 5th floor that was very spacious. The area was ok, close to Port olimpic and the subway, the station only two stops from the Old town. We thought the hotel was very quiet for the first four nights, then we got a new neighbour on top of us using shoes and kept walking around all the time it seemed... But othervise very quiet. The suite was well equipped with TV and a computer with free Internet access. Overall a great hotel for the price we paid (85 euros/night).

Excellent value for the money. Very clean, quiet, and safe.. with all of the amenities that we could ask for. Friendly staff, most of whom speak English and are eager to help. Our train got cancelled and we needed to stay another night and they fully accomodated us. Great pool area, great food at the restaurant. Would absolutely stay here again!

This is a great property that is off the beaten path. About six blocks to Metro. However, we got a Jr suite for 4 nights for 420 Euro. Beautiful room and respectible food.
Beware we saw a woman who was the victim of an attempted bag snatching outside hotel. I think that this is pervasive problem in Barcelona and not a problem specific to the hotel or area. Be mindful of your surroundings at all times when you visit this awesome city.

The hotel is in a very nice area, close to the seafront. The overall atmosphere at the modern hotel is spacious, with attentive staff, piano music in the restaurant, open-air pool and free Internet access. If they fix the problem with the shower button (I do not know if it concerns every room in the hotel), everything would be just perfect. I and my friend enjoyed each moment at the hotel and would recommend it as it has a very good price and quality ratio.
