Had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Hotel Regencia Colon. Lovely spacious room for 3 adults. The front desk staff were very helful and friendly. Took their advice on travelling by tube and not the bus. Centrally located. We would stay here again without a doubt.

I would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone that looks for an excellent position right in the centre of Barcelona. The room I got was spacious and clean. My advise is to call the hotel in advance to make sure you get a double room and not a twin-bed room, if you indeed pay for such a facility. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Excellent location, but you have to put up with some late night noise. Decent double - glazing would improve matters. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent breakfast, (possibly a bit pricey), but overall extremely good value, and we would definately stay there again. A word of warning to those who have not visited Barcelona before though - WATCH OUT FOR BAG SNATCHERS AND PICKPOCKETS. Apparently, this is the European capital of petty thieves, a greasy little guy sneaked up behind my wife and tried to make off with her bag, but thanks to the advice of the Hotel concierge, she had wisely wrapped the strap closely to her wrist, and he legged it once I turned on him! More good advice - NEVER take your passport out with you, use the hotel safe.

We had four wonderful days in the Regencia Colon in Barcelona. It is located perfectly, so that we strolled every day around the Ramlas and went running at the beach front. The important station for public transport, the Placa Catalynua, is some minutes to walk. From there you can take the bus to the airport, to Prac Guell and to the Montjuic Castle. Perfect! We didn't have breakfast in the hotel - as recommended by other "veneries" -, and this was a good choice. There are a lot of nice bars and cafes nearby. Next time we will stay again in the Regencia Colon.

Excellent location in the heart of Bari Gotic. Close to all amenities and within walking distance of the Port and beach. Only a couple of metro stops to fabulous Parc Guell. Lots of good bars/restraunts close by.

It is a good place to stay in as it is near the Rambla and Barric Gothic. Basically, it's very central but you are paying for less in this hotel. It is one of the better 3 stars hotels that I have stayed in, most importantly, the rooms are spacious and it is near the Metro Jaume 1.

We came from a cruise and were accommodated with our luggage being stored until the room was ready. Staff was friendly and spoke good English, recommended tours and provided valuable info. on orientation and safety (there are frequent attempts to approach tourists - either by some conartists or just pickpockets, so a word of caution - stay away from "friendly" locals offering their help or asking questions.
Room was surprisingly spacious and clean, including completely renovated bathroom with an excellent shower. Heavy automatic shutters absorb most of the noise, which seems to be a
constant factor from the outside (hotel itself is rather quiet), so we were very comfortably resting at night. Location is great - in the center of Barre Gothic and short walk from tourist buses, taxes, main Cathedral, etc.
Just note - there is only l night clerk at the desk, who can't help with the luggage if you arrive or leave early am.

We loved the hotel Regencia Colon - right in the center of "old" Barcelona - close to everything - staff were most accommodating and helped us with places to visit. Breakfast was excellent. A super place to stay in one of the nicest cities in Europe. We would recommend to others, in fact, have already.

A friend and I were traveling in Spain and we stayed two nights at the Colon Regencia. The location was wonderful and the hotel staff was very helpful in our needs at the hotel and information regarding Barcelona. The breakfast cost extra but was very substantial. This hotel sits directly behind its sister hotel the Colon. We rented a triple room which was simple and typically European in its size, but the price and location made it a good value for the money. Restaurants, shops and plazas abound in this area as well as the Barcelona Cathedral. It is close to the tourist bus. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

We had never been to Barcelona before and selected this hotel based on comments on Venere and Trip Advisor. The rate was very good and the location is outstanding. It was an easy walk from Placa Catalunya, which is an easy bus ride from the airport. The hotel is on the edge of the Barri Gotic, which has tons of restaurants and shops. The staff were very helpful and indulged my wife in her high school Spanish, switching to English as needed. The room was clean and bright and featured very reasonable minibar prices as well as a corkscrew and wine glasses if you wanted to bring your own. We will definitely return. Just be aware that Barcelona is a noisy city and bring earplugs. The hotel itself isn't noisy but the street noise goes on well into the wee hours.

More as expected. The hotel is very well sited, close to the Cathedral and all the entertainments. Rooms are better as we supposed (including LCD TV). It is an extension of 4* Colon Hotel in front of the Cathedral. They don´t have internet service

we were there during a festival and it was pretty crowded but still easy to get around. the hotel is across from the gothic cathedral and close to Las Ramblas. We took the hop on and off tour bus which was great. It stopped at about 40 stops. The people at the hotel were very friendly answering questions, giving directions etc. The pictures of the room on the website were accurate, no surprises. I would surely stay there again. The only thing it didnt include breakfast, but there was a Starbucks on every corner.

I was very satisfied with this hotel. The room was clean and more spacious than I was expecting and the hotel was in great location. I arrived early that morning direct from a cruise ship, the registration staff welcomed me and offered to store my luggage while I did some sightseeing. They spoke English and were extremely pleasant and helpful with my questions about how to make the most of my day in Barcelona. I have no complaints and would gladly stay there again.

Although the room was spacious and hotel in an excellent location for seeing all of Barcelona, we had quite a problem with street noise every night. The garbage trucks came three times between 12:30am and 3:00am every night and the sound echoed up the stone walls outside and right into the room. We were only on the second floor, so maybe it would have been better higher up. I was only able to sleep with the help of earplugs, which fortunately I always travel with. Other than that, the room was excellent for the price. We were actually charged slightly less than the rate we were confirmed for. We were able to walk everywhere with ease and the closest metro stop was only a few blocks. We would recommend this place again, but try to get a room on the opposite side of the building from the entrance, and on a high floor.

We were very happy with our stay. The staff was OUTSTANDING. Helpful, courteous, gracious - even allowed us to use their phone two days after we checked out - when our cell phone died and we were in a jamb.
Room was not large but exceptionally clean.
Only downside - internet access only possible from the main hotel and for a 10E/day charge.
Fantastic location

Great location near cathedral and 5 mins walk from La Rambla. Contrary to other reviewers, I didn't hear the cathedral bells; perhaps it's wise to check there is no festival taking place! Much better hotel than expected for three-star; very good value. Breakfast nice spread, but water for tea never really hot as it was in a thermos flask; I went out last morning. Friendly staff who spoke good English.

I booked 2 rooms in this hotel a double and a triple, both rooms were excellent.
We have been to Barcelona many times in the last few years, always stopping on or around the Ramblas, this is by far one of the best hotels,we have stayed in
A really good location, and a lot quieter at night than previous visits.
I will without a doubt be stopping here again

The Regencia Colon is the "annexe" of the 4 star Colon. It means that the quality of service is very good and the location (almost in front of the cathedral) is exceptional. A very good hotel I strongly recommend.

The Regencia Colon hotel is one of the best hotels I have stayed at, in its price bracket and was really good value for money. It is in a great location by the old catherdral but this does make it a bit noisey and the bells chime every quater throught out the night! On arrival, the receptionist was so busy trying to sell us tours, he forgot to tell us about the cost and times of breakfast. Barcelona is a wonderful city and I would deffinately return to the Regencia Colon.

We loved being so central between the Ramblas Cathedral and the old town. This gave a great base for seeing the sights. The hotel efficiently booked a day trip to Mount Serrat and early morning check-out for the airport. We've been there before and hope to return.

My wife and I had a very good but all too brief stay in Barcelona - which is one of the best Cities we have vistied, the hotel was excellent and the staff were probably the most friendly and helpful that we have experienced in a long time. During hte stay I had my pocket picked (not being careful enough!) but the helpfulness of the staff and the Tourist Police actually made this an enjoyable part of the stay! The Venere website was easy to use and will certainly be used again and we would definitely stay at the Regencia Colon during any future trip to Barcelona.

Nice hotel in a very good location. Everything is nearby.
The staff was very helpful - everybody spoke English. Some even German.
The noise from the street during the first night was quite disturbing which is a problem of Barcelona as such, I guess. It is the loudest city I know. In the second night I was used to it already.
For younger (feeling) couples I highly recommend a bar just outside the hotel. As you step outside you turn right, cross the street on the corner of the builing and after another few steps you´ll find the place. It´s great place for a drink on the way back to the hotel. The food looked really good (didn´t eat though...) and the people in there were all locals.
Both of us enjoyed the stay at Regencia Colón!

A very nice hotel, near the Cathedral and walking distance to the bus station.
We can hear noises from outside but overall we enjoyed our stay here. It's really in the centre and price is reasonable. We would go back to this hotel.

We just got back from a splendid holiday in Barcelona. And it all begins and ends with our fantastic stay at the Regencia Colon! An unassuming 3star property, this hotel does not offer room service and hence keep their operating costs rather low, offering us better deals and discounts. But step inside one of their many rooms and you will be excused to think that this property deserves an extra star just for sheer quality and cleanliness. The staff speak in English and double up as excellent guides. The location is magnificent and is close to all hotspots and well connected by public transport. Regencia Colon made our honeymoon an unforgettable experience. We will definitely come back!
