Good hotel location. Our room was adequate, but not exceptional - interior location made it dark but quiet (except for occasional noise in hall outside). Another room offered to us (at reduced rate) was quite cramped. Hotel staff were excellent - friendly and going out of their way to be helpful. Very good breakfast buffet.

A modern, comfortable hotel conveniently situated. Relatively quiet, for Barcelona. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room was rather modern autere - a bit depressing, and a bit noisy at times. The main criticism of the hotel is that the internal walls have almost no noise insulation, so it can be very noisy in the small hours if people are coming back from the bars etc. Overall, though, not bad. We'd stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night pre cruise and one night post cruise. Whilst the rooms weren't large, they were more than adequate for our purpose - perhaps for a stay of a week or longer I would pay for a larger room. They were very clean and modern and the beds were comfortable. The big plus was that the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was within walking distance of Placa Catalunya. I would stay at this hotel again.

Hotel nella media dei 3***, prezzo ammortizzato dalla ottima ubicazione, peccato non sia compresa la colazione, consigliato a chi vuole un posto al centro di barcellona ad un prezzo non troppo eccessivo

we had a very enjoyable stay, but was disappointed to find no tea\coffee making facilities in the room, and also lack of power points for charging cameras etc.The room itself was ok but smaller than we expected but this did not spoil the visit. We were on the 3rd floor, but we had a store room directly next to us that was accessed early morning by maintenance staff etc and this sometimes proved noisy. On the whole we had a lovely stay the best part being the wide choice of food available at breakfast time especially all the fresh fruit.

Security at hotel non-existant. Our key was given to a thief who subsequently stole items from our room. Room keys were given out without any verification of guests. The hotel accepted no responsibility for this, and the manager was rude and showed upmost negligence.
Even at the time of check out, we were instructed to go into the storage space and pick our luggage without any control whatsoever.

This hotel has a good location for short distance to interesting places. There was no disturbances from the surrondings. The only negative was that some of the receptionists where more intersted to talk on telephone then give service to the guests.

Never ever in my life I had such a bad room! The size was good as we were the tree of us but the 2 windows were facing a manhole. 6 o'clock in the morning the A/C has been turned on from below (goodby sleep...).
Staff was not friendly at all. In Barcelona I do not expect a heartly welcome (as we are not in Italy...) but at least I expect a "hola" or "adios" or maybe "gracias" when I leave (at least they live from our money). All in all I would not recommend this hotel.

We had a very nice time. The desk personnel were very helpful. We did think breakfast was included in the price but cme to find out it was extra. More our fault for not reading clearly. The breakfast was very substantial.

Having traveled between France, Italy, and Spain, I found that given the population of Barcelona, the Apsis Splendid hotel was a great value. I would definitely stay there again when I am in Barcelona.

The Aspis was quite central, it was a 10 min. walk to La Rambla. The hotel is very new and clean, quite small though. When we checked in our room wasn't ready even though it was 3.30pm. They told us that we could have a coffee in the eating area. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice, they came in each day and cleaned it also which was nice to come back to. The cleaning ladies very nice and friendly but the desk staff were very cold and not welcoming at all. They were efficient but not at all warm. There are plenty of cafes to go to around the area instead of paying 12euros for the breakfast there, which in my opinion is overpriced.
I would stay in this hotel again but not for the happy staff!

Hotel was clean and comfortable, although with very audible noise from adjoining rooms. The location was convenient but it was in a less salubrious area with prostitutes and sex shops. Not the best place for an all female party.

Room was small but very nice and very clean. Bathroom was small but also very clean. The men at reception were not really friendly but did help with directions if asked. This did not tale away from the hotel. One problem is that when in your room there is alot of noise from the hall areas ie doors closing people talking. But great value for money.

An exceptional hotel, Apsis Slendid is ideally located for a break in Barcelona.
Very well located, very clean, very friendly and with helpful staff this is without doubt one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in anywhere across Europe. Barcelona is a superb city and the Apsis Slendid is the perfect hotel from which to savour its delights. We will be back......

We requested a quiet double room, but were given twin beds - not that it mattered much. It was a quiet room until some noisy loutish football supporters (Chelsea played Barcelona whilst we were there) disturbed the whole floor- shame on them, and no reflection on the hotel itself. The bathroom was fabulous! We didn't take breakfast as there are plenty of cafes nearby for coffee & croissants but the dining room looked clean and welcoming. The location of the Apsis Splendid was fine, near enough to walk into the centre, but also with access to metro and bus routes.

Excellent hotel for the money paid, will definitely use again. Good location, being only a few minutes walk to Las Ramblas and all the main sites. Rooms are modern and clean and staff were helpful when one of us was unwell.

Our two night stay at the Apsis Splendid just before Xmas was excellent, the room facilities for 3 star were very good, the staff were friendly, and the quiet location near Placa Universitat was ideal for exploring and for good value restaurants.
It will be our first hotel to check on any further visit and the Venere Booking system made the reservation and payment simple.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Being a family of four , it would have been better (and probably more economical) to have one family room (sleeping 4 ) instead of 2 separate rooms. It would have been nice to have tea or coffee making facilities in the room. That said we had a lovely time and the Hotel was fine for our 2 night stay.

The rooms and were very nice and clean. Also the athmosphere of the hotel is comfortable and it was appreciated that Apsis Splendid is a rather small hotel. Service and competence of employees were excellent (we arrived before the official check in on the first day and could get a room earlier, were advised on sightseeing and how to get there etc.).
The only bothering thing is that the toilet is very narrow. There is not enough space left between the toilet and the sink (towels are hanging right next to the toilet)

good location close to subway and within easy walk to the plaza catalunya and modernist sections . not too spectacular on the facade but the interior is perfectly acceptable. an elevator made it easy for carrying our baggage.

This property is in an excellent location, very well maintained, the employees are friendly and knowledgeable, the room could have been a little bit larger for the 3 of us, but overall everything was excellent. Every employee spoke english.

Thank you very much for a nice stay! We would love to come back here:) Excellent location pretty near the ramblas, the placa Gracia and placa Universitat. We loved the clean bathroom, and the loving employees:) I really recommmend this hotell. The only thing I can pinpoint is that we didn`t get to bring any friends to our room. We wanted our other friends to see our nice room, but that was not allowed. Too bad, because they would love to stay at the hotel, but they really wanted to see the rooms first! Anyway, our stay was very nice and we hope to come again:)

The hotel was clean and the rooms were well maintained. The hotel staff were also very friendly and efficient. However the room given to us was really small and the noise from adjoining rooms would often filter in. Overall it was a good stay and I would recommend the hotel to others

Dear Venere, hotel had a flood before we arrived. They very kindly moved us to the Atrium Palace for the same price, taxi included. Please forward our thanks to the Apsis Group for a very comfortable. The flood was not their fault, many thanks John Petrie.

What an excellent location, quiet but in the middle of Barcelona and near all the attractions. Rooms were spacious and clean. I loved all the marble - beautiful bathroom. It was clear up front that breakfast was not included which was not a problem. Cost was exactly as on the website. Shame that there was no bar but the mini bar was reasonably priced.
Well worth having lunch on the beach. Take the metro to the Olympic Village and go down onto the beach not on the promenade. There are a handful of restaurants that are on the beach. We went to the one with the Buddha and it was out of this world. Best food I have had in ages.

My family of four stayed in the hotel splendid back in January 2004, the hotel was first class and the suite we stayed in was very spacious indeed. The hotel staff were very helpful and gave us a map detailing all places of interest. We had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel.
Many Thanks The Barker Family.

Rooms looked larger in the pictures. At least two out of the three rooms was not large enough for three beds.Reception staff on the whole not very helpful or pleasant with two exceptions only. Tried to get them to book a particular restaurant for us, but they seemed to think we would know the telephone number. Forgot to take pack the barcelona phone directory!!!!!!!
